• One of the best half guard instructionals!

  I play a lot of half guard and have watched many instructionals on it. This is definitely one of the best! Schreiner has a slightly different style on HG than many and this includes many details I haven't seen elsewhere. Definitely recommend this!

  I’ve got a lot of Paul Schreiner’s instructionals as he is a great teacher who gets that balance just right between the talking and doing plus he works very closely with Marcelo Garcia. Unsurprisingly, this instructional is up to the very same standard. There are also some really great techniques to boot, which will help to up my game on the mats.

  Paul Schreiner is the best instructor on BJJ Fanatics in my opinion and his videos are well worth the money. His videos are easily digestible, although the material is covered in great detail. I mainly studied this half guard video while I had a knee injury and it kept me on the mat training comfortably. My half guard game improved significantly even though I was injured and even after surgery I kept using this half guard system to train safely while my knee recovered. I highly recommend this video.

  Paul does an incredible job breaking down each position and providing the various reactions opponents will give as you mount control/offense. Like all of his instructional, he does a great job providing the "why?" of each technique in a concise manner that is very digestible. I'm already getting smashed less in this position and am excited to keep using this style of half guard.

  Paul spends so much time emphasizing theory that this can be a hard one to watch (I dozed off a few times). The upside though, is that the techniques become a lot clearer and easier to execute on the mat. Would have like if he's spent more time explaining the Jedi mind trick, but maybe that tech is still over my head.

  This is a deep dive into the half guard, by a guy who made one of the most applauded half guard instructional. What does this have? What DOESN’T it have is a better question. It’s loaded with tons of information, explained very well. All of it makes sense, there is never a dull moment. I’m really grateful BJJFANATICS got Paul to do this. Buy it, it’s worth $170 bucks easily. If you are looking to get into half guard, you can watch this, remember it, and start kicking ***. Paul has done all the hard work for you. He’s figured out a solid system that works. BUY IT OR GET JOHN WAYNED INTO OBLIVION.

  I have been training since 2000, and I consider Paul one of the very best instructors I have ever met. He is clear and concise- giving the perfect amount of instructions and details without being verbose. Whether you specialize in playing half guard or not- it is a position that everyone will eventually find themselves in. As a result, this series is a must have for every practitioner. But while you are at it, get all the series that Paul teaches :)
