• Most Own Title

  This title is an invaluable resource for any individual on the jiu jitsu journey. The knowledge Paul drops comes from years of training with some of the greatest bjj competitors in the common era. The passing is technical yet easy applicable. The prompts and focuses given are easily remembered to execute during training. Everytime I watch this set I feel I learn something new gives me the confidence to execute during training as well as help me fundamentally understand positions better to support with teaching in the way to think and communicate to others. This is a set I could not live without thanks Paul!

• Cranky, this DVD is bloody good, mate!!!

  Paul "El Tecnico" Schreiner is one of the great BBJ instructors in action today and this definitely comes out in this DVD. I think he's been working under Marcelo Garcia for the better part of a decade, so you know he's legit AF. But Paul's instructional is not just a slavish regurgitation of Marcelo's grappling genius. Rather he teaches "his" game, in this case for passing the guard. But "his" game is not just for him. Indeed, this is grappling for all. It is a truly scalable instructional; meaning that every grappler from white belt to black belt will benefit from the techniques. Lower level belts will learn some fundamentals that will stay with them throughout their BJJ journey and black and brown belts will have their eyes opened to details that will improve their guard passes. Paul's genius (and I do not use that term lightly) lies in his attention to detail. I'm a bit of troglodyte grappler but whenever I studied one of his instructional or have had the honor to take a class from him I learn important points about the proper hand placement of a grip or where my feet should be placed as I bridge. His mind for details is astounding but what is even more impressive if his ability to communicate this knowledge to knuckleheads like myself. Specific to this DVD is the concept of "connected reaction", the idea that you have to execute moves that are chain to your partner's movement. You must keep connected and move accordingly. I guess this is a form of situational awareness but he puts it into the context of guard passing and the end result is extremely useful.

  Paul Schreiner is up there with all the best instructors on the planet. If you like Lachlan Giles, John Danaher, and Dave Camarillo, you will like Paul. It's as simple as that. I take both group and 1-on-1 classes with Paul Schreiner, and other students of his and I have agreed: even so we've still found Paul's DVDs to be valuable assets!

  Paul is an absolute wealth of knowledge. His deep grasp of how/why positions work is easily understood because of his teaching style. Easy to understand and clearly put, Paul breaks down every concept and position in a way that I can easily add the positions to my training and competition right away. Highly recommend to anyone involved in grappling to pick apart any information from Paul that they can get their hands on (especially his passing!!).

  ....."Connected Reaction" as Paul is about as educated on guard passing in NoGi as anyone outside of my purview. Phenomenal and thorough without being boring or pretentious this is like taking 4 private lessons from the Mr. Schreiner. Highly recommended for purple and up and a great motivator for lower belts I'd imagine.

  Congrats to BJJ Fanatics for getting Paul to make a video. He is perhaps the most technical BJJ instructor on the planet, while also competing himself and training and teaching some of the best athletes in the sport at Marcelo's. Having the ability to watch and rewind and re-watch Paul teaching these techniques is like having Freddy Roach teaching you to throw a combo over and over until it's perfect. Get this video for yourself, and buy one for each of your training partners as well. Your game will thank you later.

  Paul is right up there with Danher, Julio Caesar, and even Marcelo when it comes to deep efficient analysis of bjj technique. This passing series is eye opening, explained clearly and full of “duh” type moments where you realize you’ve been doing it all wrong. It will change how you look at passing and help you crush your opponents.
