Very helpful
I always liked the hip bump sweep. This is a great version of the sweep and I learned alot!
Great techniques and sweeps
Excellent video from an absolute legend. I'd love to see more instructional videos from Professor Cohen-especially Kimuras
good stuff. i like the way he performs the hip bump sweep and his variations.
Short and sweet
Great video. Lots of options from a similar positions especially if you like cross grip and closed guard.
Cross grip reference, nice details on the old man sweep.
this is great.
Marcelo puts together a very well organized deep dive instructional on the cross grip guard. A fun guard to practice!
This video is great way to start advancing your guard game. Great for beginners to advanced practitioners. A must have in your collection.
It was interesting to learn a lot of techniques for the first time.
Marcelo is a very experienced competitor and this instructional has great techniques from open guard
Awesome video. Being an older grappler getting back into the game, I found this video very useful in my rolls. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweep that is familiar but different.
Professor Marcelo Cohen created an instructional about his strategic and technical game around the cross sleeve grip. He explains all the crucial details in a simple manner and on point. Generally he is first demonstrating the technique and then guide you through it several times by covering the key points in depth with all the and do's and dont's. Afterwards you get a couple of full speed demos. By the way the given hip bump sweep is aka the muscle sweep and the old man sweep is aka hip bump sweep. Highly recommend!
If you are open minded and looking for some different techniques and some great detail, this instructional is what you are looking for. Really gave me some fresh ideas for reactions wheee I struggled often before. And really a great bargain
A big part of my game has always been cross gripping, and this not only reminded me of things I used to use, but it also gave me a ton new ideas in new contexts. Specifically, as I get older, I like using closed guard more, and there are a lot of creative closed guard "entries" I have not seen before which is a total game changer for me. There is a decent amount of mechanical details, but the positional strategies are really where this instructional shines. Additionally, most of the techniques are done at a couple angles for each technique which is always helpful. I think for the price this is a must have, and I would highly recommend it! P.s. This is all done in the Gi, but I think most of it is still really usable stuff for No-Gi too. Enjoy!
