SIDE ESCAPES!
The instructional is very well done. Sauer is a great teacher His tips are very helpful. Micro movements and adjustments which are game changer. Highly recommend

Pedro makes everything simple. The problem with the NEW BJJ which I love is that there is always a shiny move. Pedro keeps it simple and shows you how to move yourself out of pressure. You neeed to get this as you are learning from a Pioneer and Coral Belt.

When I have been in people's side control before and felt completely lost, so the importance of getting our can't be underestimated to me. I had been getting better at surviving but could be spending whole rounds surviving. The alternative escapes from this side control DVD have really helped me get moving and feel more confident all round, as I feel less afraid to make forward progress. It has also really helped my understanding of sweeps, as some of the moves involve similar mechanics to the knee lever and flower sweeps. This realisation has really struck home. I now have more of a combination approach to escapes, where if one doesn't work the other has a much better chance, whereas before it was more all or nothing.

I have been training BJJ for eleven years and am still learning details about the basics to this day. Sometimes there is an epiphany moment and I suddenly gain an insight and new understanding of the move, but more so when someone breaks down the mechanics of why something will work, how it should work, and getting it to work. Those details are what we seek in trying to figure out how to move our bodies, our hips, how to control, and to make space. Pedro Saur is one of those meticulous individuals who has spent the time to learn and understand the details. Watching videos does not make your BJJ better, learning insight and then applying it to your game does. I picked up several little details from this set that I have adapted to my escapes.
