This is such a good tutorial. FFion Davies is a great instructor and makes it easy to understand. I am extremely happy with this instructional. I look forward to more of her work. I was able to submit all of my training partnersat least once after watching this tutorial. Highly recommended!!
In the age of ipad baby brain this instructional finds the perfect balance between being too brief and being too verbose. Everything is to the point and repeated in case you space out because your attention span has been nuked by tiktok, reels and shorts. Ffion breaks down every position covered in this instructional and covers what to do and what not to do to maximize efficiency, without giving us the origin of the move in feudal Japan or the geopolitical implications it has on Sub-Saharan Africa. Great instructional from a great instructor.
Cool closed guard stuff
highly effective and easy to add to my game
Very informative and practical because she discusses strategy followed by helpful technique pointers. The pace is good, the explanations are clear and I am glad I added this video to compliment my other guard collections. I look forward to more videos from her.
Ffion is a fantastic teacher and goes deep into the intricacies of closed guard play in this instructional. Definitely recommended if you want to improve this area of your game.
great information on Close guard.
Ffion is an extremely decorated and accomplished athlete for a multitude of reasons. She has two different types of attacks ready ontop of being able to perform them on both sides. This instructionals teaches these concepts! Furthermore, she's an incredible instructor, world class in this skill set too (I've bought alot of instructionals from many instructors). She able to point out every detail and what are the common/correct reactions/counters you may encounter and then how it leads to her secondary, tertiary and whatever the 4th/5th ones are called - she's got you. Stylistically, it teaches a comprehensive system and helps you brush up your existing or developing closed guard understanding. Thank you so much Ffion for sharing your knowledge and giving a good laugh throughout the dvd as well 💚
very good from basics to linking more advanced techniques. good clear instruction recommended
Very helpful instructional, well set out and easy to understand
This video does a great job of simplifying how to attack from closed guard using two main paths. Concise, informative, and immediately useful.

BEST DVD OF NO-GI CLOSED GUARD
Very nicely explained techniques which you can apply from white belt onwards! Ffion shows and explains a very neat closed guard game which hands you multiple options. I do like her explanation style as she gives clear technical reasons why to do certain moves (and what happens if you don't). This is a very detailed yet approachable set of videos!
Great content that's explained well. I play a lot of over hook in rolls and competitions and I've learned a ton of new tools to use with it.
Ffion Davies’ instructional on close guard is like no other, as she explains each movement with clarity and precision, making it easy to understand even for beginners. But what surprised me most was her inclusion of advanced attacks, which, though challenging, added depth to the learning experience. Her instructions, though complex at times, were delivered with such passion that I couldn’t help but be captivated. Overall, whether you’re just starting or a seasoned practitioner, Davies’ instructional is essential for anyone serious about improving their close guard game.
