Excellent, i really enjoyed instructional. Quite comprehensive well chained fudamental techiques for takedown and defence, Recommended
really good information
Great videos really helped.
excellent little series of instructional videos which like another terrific purchase of mine - a to z of armbars by andressa cintra - manages to simplify concepts which could easily end up complicated in the wrong hands
great takedown dvd
for the street self defense
This video will give you solid takedowns fundamentals for sure! Andre Galvao is the goat.
i learned a lot of judo throws and it was fun to watch
Very good at explaining, I am excited to try these more often.
You can learn judo style throws.
Professor Andre Galvao put togheter a great series about putting a fight or a match to the ground efficient and safely. He offers some traditional judo hip-throws modified for no gi scenarios and basic wrestling takedowns modified for jiu jitsu. He deeply covers how to counter them and set up your own counter attacks which means takedowns, throws, reversals or subRead more about review stating Self defense based takedowns and throws combined with submissions standing and on the groundmissions. There is also a very detailed section about breaking different grips und hugs. Highly recommend
This is a great instructional for people who are relatively new to the stand up game. Although I've been doing BJJ for over a decade, I still got a lot out of it because I was mainly a gi player starting from the knees or butt. A.G. covers a variety of no gi judo and wrestling moves that are safe for the bjj game. The instructional is organized in a sensible manner and his competition successes and experience obviously shine through and are a benefit to anyone who watches this. If there is one suggestion that I could make, and it's a minor one, I would suggest that when they film these instructionals, that the instructor and the uke wear obviously different colors, which makes observing the placement of limbs just that much easier. This suggestion could be applied to a few other instructionals I've bought from BJJ Fanatics. Still though, it's a minor production point and it's still a fantastic instructional.
Useful info. Nice work

Get the takedowns
Explained everything in very minute details
Very complete and explained well. Recommended
No Gi grappling is is quite a bit different to judo/wrestling/sambo etc. Andre does well by covering self-defense aspect first before moving into techniques that are specific to no gi grappling. Great one to pick up, especially when its on a daily deal etc.
Any bjj practitioner who likes to take people down should watch and take notes. I have no formal wrestling experience and have gained a wealth of knowledge watching this instructional. Time to try these out =]
Andre is an amazing teacher. he doesn't show you complex and frustrating techniques. he bring you to them, when you are ready. there are more comprehensive "wrestling" instructional on the platform? yes so well explained? I really doubt. worth every penny.
awsome
I thought i was buying the other takedown instructional, but i really really ended up liking this one. i began to teach to kids lately, and there are materials here that i can translate to kids class, such as stances, steps, some drills. these parts however would be un interesting to the advanced BJJ players. it's cool that Galvao puts so much emphasis on the self defence aspect also... now that i think of it, my instructors barely taught me self defence stuff. i mostly saw them in books back in the day! so props to Galvao for choosing to show old school self defence stuff.
I don't know what other word to put for this guy andre galvao he is marvelous at teaching all his video are a 1000 stars what I can recommend for everyone to purchase all his dvd they are like diamond whether you are a beginner or a pro andre galvao is the best I wish I could met the man and ask him to become my bjj teacher pls buy buy buy you won't regret it.
I never wrestled before and this shows basic moves and takes them to advanced. No wasted talk , great clarity. One of my favorite DVD's. Everyone should own this
