Easy to implement
Awesome! This and JFlo’s instructionals are 2 must-have DVDs on footsweeps.
Mock’s resume speaks for itself. Great introduction to no gi foot sweeps. I love the simplicity that Mocco brings. A lot of his sweeps aren’t predicated on perfection and he shows them enough times in a row to ingrain them in your head.
Nobody better to learn it from
I find wrestling coaches tend to break down concepts and techniques better for the way I learn than BJJ instructors do--and Steve Mocco's straightforward, clear approach to foot sweeps is proof-positive of this. Great attacks and awesome coach.
Awesome details.
Gordon Ryan praises Steve on one of his courses and decided to give it a shot. This add a new understanding and mechanics to stand up for a BJJ only enthusiast.
Steve Mocco is the guy when it comes to understanding foot sweeps. He gives short and digestible bits of info on different sweeps from all different control positions.
Great video. Goes into depth on foot sweeps from multiple positions and how to chain them together.
Great Lesson!
Great intro for learning wrestling in general also recommend his hand fighting instructional
treasure trove of knowledge in this one. I highly recommend this.
Great set of important points to execute sweeps effectively no gi
Outstanding instructional
Great
Precision Foot Sweeps by Steve Mocco is one of those instructionals where you watch and think, “Oh yeah, I can totally do that,” and then promptly sweep yourself the first time you try it. But that’s not a flaw—it’s a testament to how technical and beautifully detailed Mocco’s approach really is. This is a goldmine for anyone who wants to make their standup game slicker and more efficient, especially in no-gi where foot sweeps are underused and undertrained. Mocco teaches with precision, showing not just the how, but the timing, weight shifts, and positional setups that make these sweeps work against skilled opponents. Here’s what I took away: These aren’t random trips—they’re calculated traps that disrupt balance at just the right time. You’ll need to be patient. This isn’t an "easy win" instructional—it’s an investment. Mocco’s wrestling experience shines through, but he presents it in a way that BJJ players can adapt and use effectively. Great for improving footwork, control, and making your opponent feel like the mat is made of banana peels. Bottom line: You won’t master this in a weekend, but if you’re willing to drill and think like a tactician, Precision Foot Sweeps could seriously upgrade your stand-up game. Just don’t blame Mocco when your first few reps end with you on your back. That’s part of the journey.
