  Very comprehensive and detailed. I like the summary chapter where he goes through the series with less detail. One of my favorite things is that he is smaller than his uke Placido.

• Deep dive on Sumi Gaeshi

  Great follow up on John’s New Wave open guard 2 where he touches on the fundamentals of no gi Sumi Gaeshi. Brian builds on that with more set ups and context. With the whole instructional dedicated to Sumi Gaeshi Brian is able to show a lot of detail on how to use the sweep even when it fails. Brian does a great job explaining what to do when they defend the sweep and see Sumi Gaeshi as a gateway into other dominant attacks and positions.
