Do you have detailed questions about modern no gi passing, 9/10 chances are the answer is in this video
One of the best instructionals on half guard. Gordon Ryan shows his great half guard he uses in competition
Gordon is one of the top teachers in all of BJJ. This content is well formatted and can be applied quickly. Highly suggest buying if interested in improving halfguard.
Excellent video. I have been working half-guard attacks for a few months now and this video has opened me up to some new concepts as well as techniques I wasn't using. All the GR videos are very helpful and this one definitely fits that description.
Awesome content as ever from the GOAT
Good info
Amazing!
this instructional will make you unafraid of half guard and in fact want to force half guard because you'll be so good at passing that your opponents are helpless.
Easy to follow and instantly game changing movements put you on the offense from half guard.
Very detailed and has completely changed the way I attack from half guard
Incredible detail
Great breakdowns of complex positions
Gordon has a way of breaking down complex positions into understandable parts
This is my 1st time buying a Gordon Ryan instructional, and it was money well spent... I'm almost half way through and so far, I've been having a lot of success with the techniques that I've learned so far!!! I can't wait to finish the second half!!!
Systematic, clear and clever sharp series of attacks with great technical details and a good overall understanding of the structure of attacks. Please note that while there is some retention, most of the half guard retention stuff is in the retention instructional, most of the defensive material here is on how not to be put in trouble in the first place
Very Analytical, systematic approach to using half butterfly as a hub to transition into other guard systems and leg entanglements. It includes all the response based option’s you’ve seen in G. Ryan’s matched over the last few years. This set compliments Danaher half guard series very well.
Lots of great details that completely changed my half guard
The detail in Gordon Ryan's instruction is fantastic. You can watch it over again and get new information. Incredible.
This is the optimal solution for controlling the sides and north and south.
Amazing half guard details. The techniques are easy to use anyone can do them and Gordon Ryan does a great job at breaking down the techniques step by step
it's a good chance to understand how gordon play his unique guard!
Very in depth
Excellent video!!
Been learning halfguard lately and the concept of low knee and butterfly half has already helped improve my guarding game so much. I havent finished all series as there's a lot to learn and will probably keep watching this throughout my jiu jitsu journey picking up tips and tricks that i surely am missing at the moment.
While there are some gems in this instructional, it is not nearly as well organized as his closed guard class. Half Guard Anthology by Lachlan Giles is considerably more clear and comprehensive. He frequently pauses to mention his other instructionals, and that is very frustrating. Most of all, in all Gordon Ryan instructionals it feels like he is teaching what to do without much information about how to do it, he does not offer as much guidance about the biomechanical or hidden side of things. Ryan is the best fighter in the world, but he still has room to grow as a teacher.
