Yep, he is back with another installment. If you are a white belt through purple, this is a must have. The instruction is comprehensive yet concise. Great product and I am about to support with my sixth purchase of a Danaher product. I know this is Gordon Ryan not John Danaher; however, the products are damn good. Great job at BJJ fanatics on production and library of content, congratulations to Mr. Ryan on a top tier product.
Very good!!!
It's like a young John Danaher tutorial, he doesn't have the patience to explain things the way John does but makes it up with great, simple, to-the-point comments all along. This complements very well with Danaher's systems, there are some overlaps here and there but they are really minor (I feel they are there more for people that may have not bought John's systems). Keep it up Gordon but give some discounts so we can afford it!
Like John, Gordon teaches like a true scholar of the Martial Art. In this instructional he truly proved that he can teach a skill that even he does not consistently use. Great techniques, masterfully detailed, this will undoubtedly improve anyone's closed guard.
Haven't been able to get my hands on one of GR's training due to price but BJJFanatics delivered with great offers! GR definitely over-delivered in this awesome training. Can't wait to get back into training after this lockdown and try some of it out.
I almost never leave reviews, but this DVD deserves one! It goes without saying that Danaher’s videos are great, but I know Mr.Ryan would like some feedback. This is one of my favorite instructionals! The material is presented in a clear, precise, and methodical Manner. Mr, Ryan does a fantastic job of not just teaching you a bunch of moves, but the concepts behind the moves. The mindset and strategies taught in this video will bleed over to the rest of your game. Nicely done! Greatly appreciate it.
Great content
1st of all, I feel fortunate that we live in a time where we get access to leading minds in BJJ with such ease. Gordan's teaching style is clear. His thinking from every position is systematised (as you would expect from a Danaher Black Belt). He does exceptionally well with explaining concepts, dos and donts or crucial details meanwhile connecting systems to sub systems. If you are a practitioner that is more interested in the Why and not the How then this is for you.
This DVD is a game changer Gordon's explanation are very clear and precise. The techniques are well demonstrated and explained.
Gordon’s got a good coaching voice/mind. As a personal trainer, he gives me all the info that I would want to give to a client if they were performing a new exercise. Context, different variations, what you want to look for vs common errors. Gordon’s very clear and concise.
Never had a great closed Guard. Definitely better now
Great deatils to improve the most basic position.
Gordon breaks down closed guard in a very easy to understand way. I’m a purple belt and have been training for 5yrs and was STILL able to learn and gain so much from this breakdown. Thanks Gordon!!
Love this system. Really like gordans teaching style bit faster and more watchable than Danaher stuff.
I've watched the entire series from start to finish and have now started working on taking notes the second time through. Everything Gordon covers is very well laid out and detailed. This information as already started to help me with my open guard game. I was finally able to hit the omoplata during live sparring and it felt great.
The little details that Gordon goes over are the ones that will make moves work and flow together. Definitely will take your closed guard to the next level
Awesome instructional!
