Got sick of others in my gym TAbing me, so I bought this and learned it. Now I am better at it than they are!!! Party On Garth
This two hour long instructional teaches a comprehensive telephone armbar system, which is suitable for Gi and No-Gi. It is worth noting that a significant portion of the instructional, techniques are taught firstly from the closed guard and what Casy Lamb calls the side saddle (which can be seen in the trailer at the 3 second point), however volume 4 addresses several other positions i.e., butterfly, half guard, knee on belly, side control and opportunities from the 50/50. The instructional has a logical and appropriate structure. The approach is pragmatic with chapters teaching movement, problems and difficulties, opportunities, likely defensive responses from opponents including recommended consequential responses and entries to the telephone armbar. As well as teaching the telephone armbar there is also coverage of other complimentary submissions, including armbars such as squeeze/scoop armbars, omoplata, and the use of a simple wristlock. Casey Lamb clearly has a deep understanding of the telephone armbar system and has no difficulty explaining and demonstrating the techniques. He stays focused on the material and it is easy to follow and understand. The video quality is consistent with the preview [volume 4 chapter 3 – Telephone Armbar (TAB) from butterfly 2] and the trailer and reflects the use of a fixed video camera. In summary, this is a worthwhile system to learn, particularly if you spend some time in the closed guard or you are wishing to expand your submission skills. Importantly you don’t have to necessarily be in a dominate position to find opportunities to submit using Casey Lamb’s telephone armbar system.
good instructional, solid knowledge well taught
I train under Casey and I can say from first hand knowledge this system works. I receive instruction from the man himself on this system of attack and I still purchased the instructional. After watching and studying this material you will see telephone armbars from everywhere. It is a great sub and if you don't hit it, it will definately open up other attacks. I can't recommend this instructional enough!
A well organized instructional. Not to verbose and to the point.
