Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:People should not overlook this guy Sonny Sahota
I don't know who he is but he has taken an already complex grappling sport like judo and applied it to nogi grappling in a easy to understand format. Also he makes no illusions that you have to wrestle. Most coaches and judo people assume you can just grab someone and do a judo throw. Sonny doesn't do that. He makes damn sure you get specific wrestling grips to make those throws work. What I also like is he updates the information with each instructional. I had some recent nogi BJJ matches and I pulled off alot of these moves. Anyways, get this instructional if you want to win on your feet.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:fire:Out of the box
Great instructional, the best blend of judo, grappling and wrestling i came trough so far
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:ashi waza as set up and execution technique - foot sweeps get done!
Sony Sahota provided a very applicable instructional about foot sweeps as a set up technique and an execution technique. First he breaks down in depth what are the attacks eventually about and how you get proper hip and feet placement and motion to make the off-balance easy. Second he is going over all the different kinds of grips and how to set up to get them. Third he is explaining the techniques. He gives a step by step introduction to every technique and form different angles. Finally he is showing every technique in real speed form different spots in action - reaction set ups. He really points out when a certain grip matters and when it is more about personal perference to get the proper off-balancing and angles. Highly recommend!!!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Very Thorough and Impressive
I have all of Sonny's videos and this one is very good. Step-by-step, clear, straight to the point. Just the way I like it. I'm a judo blackbelt and I learned many key judo concepts from Sonny's nogi series ironically. I'm curious if he will make a video for judo in the gi. In any case, many of my students started competing in nogi BJJ and followed the instructions in this video with much success. I'm pleased by the results. Thank you for making a fantastic product, looking forward to the next one!
Outstanding!
I took a BJJ seminar with Sonny Sahota many years ago and I had no idea he is also a judo player! I was impressed with his knowledge of BJJ but now he exceeds my expectations! I have his videos and its hard to choose which one is better. I would say this one is my favorite because I'm not good at throwing or wrestling but the foot sweeps work very well for my skill level and body type. what Sonny shows is effective using less energy with the foot sweeps. Sonny, if you are reading this you may not remember me but please visit India again soon! We would love to learn more! Good luck and God Bless.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:If you want takedowns you have to get this!
He pulls out all the stops on this one. Every technique is demonstrated well. Easy to understand instructions and concepts. I love judo but because of my age I switched Nogi BJJ. I already started hitting these moves at my BJJ gym. It’s like I’m learning judo AND wrestling at the same time (he devotes a whole chapter on wrestling alone!). You will definitely get more than you bargained for. This is a great video for all belt levels who want to takedown opponents but don’t like to shoot. Highly recommended!
