Good refresher on all chokes
Great Overview of a variety of different chokes, highly recommend.
Pleased to hear you from Uk !
Thank you Deborah! I fell in love with BJJ, the art and self-defense is essential to me. The sport is fun, but not really my priority. Loving the detailed descriptions, the pacing and illustrations of your videos. I'm a 2-Stripe White.
This is an excellent instructional. Deborah Gracie goes into detail and demonstrates multiple angles for each choke. She also shows many double attacks. I find that I like to limit myself to double attacks (sometimes triple) because any more than this can feel overkill. If she comes out with more instructional, I'll buy them.
Easy yo understand, explained slowly. You must have chokes ready for oportunities.
While not long winded,Full of great details on using the Gi as a weapon. This is one of my favorite courses
I learned lots of Gi chokes with this instructional, it's very basic to understand and straight to the point. This is a instructional that I really enjoy.
Deborah starts by explaining you to a choke generally works and what you have generally to apply that its working. She delivers a great arsenal for all five major positions - closed quard - mount - back - sidemount - turte. she also shows how severel attacks work hand in hand or hand in legs. Definitly a recommendation!
If you are looking for an instructional covering a broad range of GI chokes that are taught well, then this instructional would be a good choice. Deborah Gracie’s five volume instructional is organised around chokes from the closed guard, the mount, the back, side control and turtle. Apparently, this is the first of a two part series on chokes and at the time of writing this review the second part had yet to be released. The total length of the instruction is 1 hour 35 minutes and consists of 33 chapters. Deborah Gracie teaches clearly, and she provides the necessary detail to make sure each technique will work effectively. A good example of the level of detail provided is in the chapter “How to choke the hulk” where she shares additional details to improve and amplify the effectiveness of a cross hand palm up choke from closed guard to enable you to reliably submit a man mountain. In my opinion technique overcoming strength or size is a beautiful thing. Importantly within the instructional she also shares information on how to deal with the typical response from the defender to counter your choke. Also included are a series of double and triple attacks. These attacks involve a previously taught choking technique combined with another type of attack (e.g., armbar) or another choke technique (e.g., triangle). The instructional has been filmed with a fixed camera, the range and focus is good. Sound is clear. Demonstrations of techniques are repeated and provided from different angles, so it is easy to see the necessary detail. Please review the list of techniques being taught, but I think the primary focus for this instructional is on white and blue belt students, however regardless of your belt level if you wish to improve your GI choking technique then this instructional would be a good purchase.
Bravo,As a guy who is 80 pds lighter than most of the people I roll with,This course is already helping me make little adjustments that are helping my game tremendously.
This series is great 👍 it provides a review of the variations of the palm up and palm down chokes. However the main the difference between this series and others is that the instructor gives the indicators when to utilize them. The details and microsdjustments made prior to choke for each version explained will make a difference in your game. Try the banana adjustment after watching and watch your partners nap.
