Great Video
I found this instructional through Josh McKinney's you tube channel, from the guard pass tier list video. Knee cut is probably my favorite pass, and like Josh I try to find the knee cut from just about any position I can. In this series, he goes over how to set up the knee cut from just about every guard, as well as a few alternate passes for those specific guards that knee cut isn't as high percentage from. He starts with the core concepts of the technique and some troubleshooting steps for finishing the technique, and then goes guard-by-guard. There are two things that I think could have made this instructional better: 1) A more detailed description of this specific "staple" position, as it's not a position I'm familiar with. He goes over what to do with the upper body, but not the staple itself. 2) If there was a little bit of discussion on how to apply these concepts in no-gi, since some of the troubleshooting steps involve lapel or collar grips. Overall, I think this was a wonderful instructional, and it's given me some good ideas to elevate my guard passing.
The entirety of this instructional is profoundly functional. It may not be glamorous but it works. Just like all of Roger Gracie's techniques, Josh offers something clearly defined that will work at all levels for all ages. It is fantastic!

Liked how easy it was to follow, practical for my level. Easy to implement right away.
Clear explanations and demonstrations...even an old guy like me has been able to apply many of the concepts quite quickly.
Professor Josh Mckinney did a great job of systematizing the knee cut pass with his two main concepts: pinning the far shoulder down and getting around/away (of) the near side leg and stacking, splitting the legs and stapling the upper body before finishing. He teaches to counter all common counters by pressure and control! So it is for all age divisions!! Highly recommend!!!
Well structured and direct to the point!
I like the way he sets up the cut from the opposite side. Really changed my ability to use the knee cut. Also prevents your opponent from catching your ankle. Wasn't much of a knee cut guy but now it's going to be one of my go to passes. Thanks Josh for some unique functional techniques.
This is the most in-depth knee cut instructional I have come across. Josh goes over how to get to the knee cut from a variety of guards, how to finish the pass using an easy-to-remember concept, dealing with grips, and how to respond to common reactions from your opponent such as the bump forward and trying to go to deep half. Not only is the informational Jiu Jitsu content excellent, Josh is quite the comedian as well! I think you will agree that this is an entertaining, fun, and in depth instructional on the most effective guard pass in BJJ over the last 5 years.
this is an awesome instructional at a great price. You are pretty much getting knee cuts from every guard here and there arent many knee cut instructionals on BJJfanatics! pick this up you wont regret it.
Josh has an outstanding podcast and now a quality instructional too. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Josh is an awesome instructor and very good at what he does!
