• Great for players transferring to no gi

  Lachlan does a great job organizing all of the mini battles you need to know to make all of those outside control open guards you learned in the gi work in no gi. I like the way he explains the advantages of outside control and how you need to make all of the guard you use flow from one to the other (outside control guard transition well to other outside control guards and so on. If you ever wanted to explore these types of guards I can’t think of better instructional.

• Really good reference guide to open guard

  I found these instructional to be very helpful in my understanding to modern day open guard. As an older practitioners, I face a lot of younger folks that play complex entanglements and scrambles. These videos helped me see what they see.

  Investing in Giles instructional is by far the most well spent compared to other series. Much cheaper than other material, yet it has been proven that keeping the feet on the outside is superior to the inside. Especially during open guard retention. Super pedagogical as well.

  Especially the open guard retention techniques combined with the RDLR stuff has improved my game. The aussies certainly innovate the open guard retention game by translating the gi techniques of the Miyao and Mendes brothers to no gi. Very pedagogically explained as well, as alwaus with Giles.

  If you like play bottom and take the back/legs this instructional in my opinion is the first you should learn and then combined it with others of Lachlan like the Half guard anthology and the leg locks 50/50, you will have material to study during years. Very grateful to Lachlan.
