I've been working on tomoe nages and this instructional was exactly what I need for my game. Great details with clear explanations and some really good combos too. I highly recommend this instructional for a thorough breakdown if you're looking to add some judo to your bjj. Cant wait to try these in competition and sparring!
Great teacher communicates information very well. Techniques are extremely helpful and haven’t seen most before.
Dainis does a great job breaking down the details, and makes things easy to implement. Really appreciate seeing techniques broken down and extra angles provided to help see what is happening in each sequence. A great resource if you're looking to add new tools to your standup game.
A Must-Have for Anyone Looking to Dominant the Stand-Up Game Without Pulling Guard! If you’ve ever felt like traditional Judo is too complicated, too risky, or requires ten years of background to actually hit in live rolling, The Sacrifice Throw Blueprint by Dainis Nguyen-Huu is the instructional you’ve been waiting for. What makes this DVD stand out is how incredibly easy it is to follow. Dainis completely strips away the rigid, sport-specific traditional complexity and delivers highly practical, high-percentage sacrifice throws (like the Sumi Gaeshi and Tomoe Nage systems) adapted specifically for Jiu-Jitsu. The production value is top-notch. You get great views and multiple camera angles for every single technique, meaning you don't have to guess where the hidden grips are or how the hips are shifting. He breaks down the mechanics so clearly that you can immediately take these concepts to the mat. Whether you are a white belt trying to survive the standing rounds, a blue or purple belt looking to expand your takedown arsenal, or an advanced brown and black belt wanting to add sharp, effortless transition-to-submission chains (like his flash armbars and triangles), this instructional delivers. It perfectly bridges the gap between Judo and BJJ. Highly recommended!
great details
This instructional completely changed how I approach sacrifice throws in BJJ. The techniques are broken down into easy-to-follow steps with a strong emphasis on timing, entries, and connecting each throw to the next attack. I appreciated how practical everything felt for live rolling rather than just drilling. It’s a great resource for anyone looking to add effective, high-percentage takedowns to their game.
Highly recommended instructional from Dainis Nguyen-Huu. An excellent way to incorporate Judo techniques into your BJJ game. He explains the techniques that are easy to understand and follow. Great for competitive players and hobbyists alike. This instructional has something for everyone.
This course is incredible! I started with this instructor’s Footsweep the world course and immediately started finding success. I’m a 51 yo man who pulled guard exclusively as I feared the standup. This course has now added great and intuitive ways for me to add throws. 👊🔥 Please keep making more courses as I need them!!!
I’ve been training BJJ for 8 years and always felt my throws were a weak point, especially the dramatic sacrifice techniques. This instructional by Dainis Nguyen-Huu is exactly what I needed. The production quality is top-tier (as usual for BJJ Fanatics), and the instructor explains concepts in a way that even intermediate grapplers can absorb quickly. If you want to expand your stand-up game and add some high-percentage (and fun) sacrifice throws without getting smashed, this is worth every penny.

Great instruction with material laid out in an easy to digest manner. Great add for stand up improvements
Many great details and very easy to understand
Really great instructional to help bridge BJJ guard players with some sort of stand up system Simple system that offers suprising depth of options between sweeps, pulls, and submissions High percentage techniques that are easy to apply
Another solid instructional from Dainis Nguyen-Huu! I found a lot of success with the foot sweep blue print and now I am adding these sacrifice throws to my game. After watching many of his highlights using these throws, I gad to make sure to grab this! Do yourself a huge favour and add this to your collection, you will not be disappointed.
Very good instructional. Clear and practical. The techniques are broken down in a way that makes them easy to understand, with plenty of detail on timing, grips, and common mistakes. Looking forward to adding some of these to my game and using in upcoming competitions.
Amazing stuff, highly recommend if you want to improve your stand up game!
Just got this sacrifice throw instructional. Will be implementing this for sure into my game. Great instructional.
This instructional significantly improved my understanding of stand-up and takedowns. The sacrifice throws are broken down in a clear, easy-to-follow way, with plenty of details that make them practical to apply. Even if you're not planning to build your entire game around sacrifice throws, the concepts carry over to other areas of stand-up. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to build more confidence on the feet and expand their takedown game.
As someone who has only pulled guard, this really helped me have more options in my rolls and matches. Its been such an eye opener how nice it is to have the variety to do both, this has helped me develop some confidence in my standup. Dainis is thorough without making it overwhelming. Great content!!
Great instructional As a BJJ practitioner who always struggled with traditional stand-up wrestling and complex judo, this instructional helped bridge the gap offering a great system between throwing and pulling guard for competition. Mixing in the submission set up its easy to have many options. I feel like its a safe and high-percentage system. Great instruction and communication
As someone who has been a guard puller for his entire time doing BJJ, I finally realized I need to do more and expand my game, this was incredibly useful of getting some takedowns in rolls. Dainis makes it super digestible and explains it very thorough, without making it too complicated. Excellent watch!!
Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this video and instructional will really help your game. I’ve been training wrestling BJJ and judo for over 20 years. This has really helped my takedowns and my understanding of all these concepts. I use it regularly. I highly recommend for anyone.
Another fantastic instructional from Dainis and an awesome follow-up to his foot sweeps. His tutorials are easy to understand and replicate & are proven in high level competition as a Worlds Silver Medalist. I can't wait for the next one to drop!
This is a great instructional if you're trying to learn how to take people down from standing. Even though I mostly play guard I noticed I am much more comfortable on my feet now and actually pose a threat to people when we're standing. I highly recommend this to anyone who's either new to judo style takedowns or trying to add to their pre-existing stand up game.
Great instructional. I've always struggled with takedowns in BJJ, and this instructional really helped me understand them in a way that finally clicked. Dainis breaks everything down clearly, making the techniques easy to follow and apply. The sacrifice throws fit well into my game and transition smoothly into submissions and guard attacks. I've already started using a few of the techniques during rolling with good results. Definitely worth it if you want to improve your stand-up for BJJ.
