Very practical instruction based on sound principles.
My old rotator cuff injury flared up in a big way so I wasn’t going to roll at all but I decided that I would just go easy and tap out quickly. I had to hold my left arm against my body like it was in a sling, rolling one handed. Of course my rolling partner of 15 years quickly ended up putting me on the bottom in full side control to my right. I was stuck there with the forearm of my bad side pinned between us. Instead of bench pressing up and away while shrimping back as I always did, I was force to use the vortex. I couldn’t push up and away with my hand and forearm using my triceps and shoulder so I used my elbow, lats and my rotating hips. This turned out to be stronger and more effective than my old ways. I began to push down whenever possible while moving my upper body back and away. My old friend has long since learn my ways and simply adjusts before I can get my knee in. To the surprise of both of us, the new system allowed me to recover guard. I actually started getting my legs into the mix even with senior players. As I rolled with others and submitted to more and more of the program, I began to have one of my best defensive weeks ever.
It’s amazing!
A true help for understanding and improving thé guard defense. Xande is a true legend who goes deep into the subject with an sensational simplicity. A TRUE MUST HAVE. Thanks Xande
