Highly recommended!!!
from a greco standpoint
The 2-on-1 is one of the most effective grips you can take on an opponent in my opinion. The skill goes beyond Greco-Roman wrestling as well, even into things like weapon defense. It is a handfighting maneuver that will set up many other techniques, even things not shown in this video.
Great concise knowledge about 2 on 1
very gd.
if you want to improve your greco throws, pat is the best resource. great teacher.
Great product. Excellent instruction. I'm excited to hit some of these techniques in competition.
Found some great concepts and series in here especially against a more upright stance you tend to find in submission wrestling. Highly recommended and not as common to see
Really solid intro to advanced content for the Russian tie/2-on-1.
Another incredible set from Pat Smith. He is easily among the best wrestling instructors I've seen on this site (for me, he might be THE best). I'll be honest, I was skeptical about whether GR 2-on-1 would be useful for me. I don't wrestle GR, and I was under the impression that the GR 2-on-1 is less applicable to other rulesets like submission grappling or freestyle wrestling. Boy was I wrong! A lot of the GR 2-on-1 concepts can be applied to any grappling style -- it doesn't matter if their head is down and their hips are back. When I was a kid my coaches would always say "training Greco will improve the rest of your wrestling" and now I'm finally starting to understand the truth to this. The set has some great drills for movement, balance, and gripping that are great for wrestling in general (ie, they are not GR 2-on-1 specific). Also, after just 2 weeks of drilling daily, my grips, sensitivity, and control with the 2-on-1 have improved tremendously. Also, paying attention to how Pat demonstrates his foot placement, how he positions his body relative to the opponent's arm, and how he changes his direction based on the opponent's reaction has illuminated some of basic (but subtle) positioning flaws that I had with my freestyle 2-on-1. It also cleaned up my pinch headlock (he has a couple of chapters on this position too). My 2-on-1 has improved so much after a very short period of time. Finally, just like Pat's underhooks series, this set has some great chains and good responses to common defenses against the 2-on-1.
