insightful techniques
Great instructor
great video. teaches awesome foundational greco techniques.
very applicable techniques
This course made me fall in love with Greco. Pat offers a great intro to the sport, and its effective in multiple disciplines. He is a superb teacher.
I wholeheartedly endorse this instructional. As a bigger, taller grappler, shooting for takedowns isn't something that I find particularly easy, so I've concentrated on upper-body throws. This instructional has helped me improve my handfighting to the point that I can tie up and force other grapplers to engage with me, and got me to a point wher eI cna now force the underhook and toss opponents - physically practical and psychologically devastating. The instruction level is fantastic - clear, concise, but never too light on details. Pat Smith walks through not only how to perform the technique, but why specific points are key to correct execution and what will happen if you don't. I've yet to find any other resource that has helped my game this much.
really good instructional
Excellent detail and very useful techniques.
great
P. S. is doing an amazing job by breaking down evety step so precise from the initial stance to the setups and throws and pointing out so well to always use your whole body to get what you are looking for! An absolute must have if you want to utilize your underhook efficiently!
for learning greco, the best resource.
Awesome Pat gave lots of great details I was able to use right away
Showed effective details to help bring to our wrestling club
Incorporating Greco into my stand-up has improved my standup. Pat shares a lot of great details that you can use right away. for example, the under hook series made an immediate impact in my game
I've gone through a lot of instructionals on underhooks, and Pat Smith's is hands down the best that I've seen. The set is an excellent and reasonably comprehensive instruction on underhooks. The positioning, concepts, and techniques are all expertly explained. Importantly, Pat Smith covers the timing cues for when a technique can be optimally applied, and the techniques are curated to deal with most of the main postures and reactions that you'll get from a skilled opponent. He also discusses the relationship between the techniques and how they can be chained together. The time he spends on each technique is just right for me; short and punchy, but still long enough to cover the key details. Although the title says "Greco Roman", I want to emphasize that the positions and moves are applicable to folk, FS, and no-gi submission grappling as well (with some common sense modifications). In recent years the quality and variety of BJJ instructionals has skyrocketed, but content for other grappling sports has lagged behind. We see a lot of judo and wrestling sets from amazing athletes with very little teaching experience (or teaching talent), which is still valuable but when compared to the best BJJ instructionals, the difference in quality is readily apparent. So I was surprised by this gem.
