Great course
Enter the system is not enough, you must know how to exit the system. Garry is a great teacher that's why I get all his DVDs. Hight reccomed.
Perfect Reference
This instructional is perfect to refer back to whenever you get caught in a submission and dont know any escapes.
Perfect for positional escapes
These are easy to understand, follow, and implement in training. With only 6 months of training, I was able to watch this video, go to class, and teach others to use them with high levels of success. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn to survive and break your opponents' offensive cycle. The instructional flows well and Garry is a great coach. I purchased this video just under 4 months ago and my BJJ escapes and understanding of positions has increased substantially. I have watched this video for probably 40 hours and I am still learning/improving on the techniques shown. My gym no longer has a coach (because we are located in a rural area) and I used this instructional to help myself/others learn escapes. The arm triangle escape was used in a MMA match by one of my classmates and he said it was the reason he escaped the position. I frequently get submitted, make a mental note of the submission, look it up on this video, and then teach/train the escape the next time we have class. Thank you Garry and I will most certainly purchase other videos from you!

Great DVD
Garry has some down to earth simple explanations unlike John, which is not bad, Gary keeps it simple. Overall I would buy any videos that come in the future from Garry. The concepts are like I said very simple and covers the most sumbissions escapes, the techniques and the moves and if that is not covered, you are more than supplied with the ideas and thought experiments to do it yourself alone, like he preaches it.

It definitely takes a lot of practice and drilling, but let’s just say, I’m called the zombie now in my gym, because it’s so hard to put my down with any submission!

Best submission submission escape video out there. Really appreciated Gary Tonon’s advise on how to drill for this as it requires a specific approach to learning.

Buy this, after watching all 8 chapters I went to train with my head instructor, I got out of all of his attacks perfectly, he was so impressed by me he invited me over to his house for dinner and a movie, he even let me spend the night with his wife, we are going to be moving into a cozy 2 bedroom townhouse together . Consise - Immediately applicable - watching as needed and it's working great. I'm not watching start to finish, I started with the submission I get caught in most, immediatley I am escaping more often and in a systematic way. Then as I get caught with things in training, I refer back here and get more help. Only not much on back defenses, if this is your focus perhaps you'd prefer something more back defence specific. 10/10 from me.
