Exploring empty half guard
great addition to your bottom game. Unusual but not difficult and very effective
This is a great little move
This is a very straightforward and thorough introduction to a unique move. I've used this basic move on opponents of all levels. Definitely worth adding to your arsenal.
I had high hopes but...
I really wanted to like this video, but I just couldn’t get there. Almost the entire instructional is focused on one side, the left side, which for most people is the weaker side unless you are left handed or more advanced. Seeing it from both perspectives would have made a big difference in understanding and usability. The position itself also didn’t feel very practical to me. I was expecting to see more setups or entries from different positions, but it stayed pretty limited throughout. Because of that, I just don’t see many situations where I would actually be able to use this effectively while rolling. Overall, I had high hopes, but it just didn’t translate well into something I can use.
Excellent stuff
Well detailed instructional. A must have for those that need to work on their bottom half game.

Interesting
Useful tool at all levels
Empty half guard is just another weapons to include in anyone's arsenal. It makes it a nightmare for your opponent to keep you down. Simple, concise, and well explained
You Need This!
I have a lot of instructional videos, and this is one of the best. Daniel breaks down the mechanics and provides many options and scenarios. This is a simple technique with many options. After watching 20 minutes of this video, you’ll be able to use the empty half guard in live rolling. Daniel provides quick and easy-to-understand instructions. He doesn’t bother you with a long introductory screed about combat and the philosophy of a fighter. He gets right to it. He shows you the technique, adds a few details to help you understand the positioning, and moves along. It’s a great instructional and is worth every penny, even if you have to pay full price.
Good
Saisie avec de jambe par l'exterieur en contre de yoko shiho
Saisie de jambe par l'extérieur pour obtenir le matte. Voici des Contre-attaques possibles à partir de cette position inferieure. Uke tient en yoko shiho gatame.
Empty half guard
seen the position numerous times in MMA. Will review details to add to my game
Side control escape
A unique position to catch your opponents off guard and in to your guard or top position this would be definitely something imma use in training
Unique sweeps
Very unique position / sweeps. The empty half guard is often where I find myself. I've used the techniques successfully and my partner's never suspect what's coming or in which direction.
guard
great
So Tricky!
I've seen Marcelo Garcia and a lot of MMA guys use the empty half guard to reguard but Daniel has a whole system from here. Amazing stuff, definitely changes the guard passing/side control meta game.
To ne better faster
If you want master thé art of Jiu jitsu you need good defence
Great
Excellent info about a little discussed topic.
Interesting position
Unusual and interesting position. When tested proved to be also very efficient.
Awesome info on little studied position
I found this to be very useful as I end up here a lot but wasn’t aware of some of these options. Highly recommend
Excellent
Fills in some gaps on a position that you may find yourself in frequently if you play defensive BJJ postures like Running man and Hawking. I found it extremely useful right away.
Exactly what I needed
I’ve been finding myself in this position recently as I’ve experimented more with defensive BJJ positions. I knew there was sweep potential as I occasionally have had success. This instructional filled in the gaps and gave me some great insight. Highly recommend if you find yourself gravitating towards this.

Genius!!!
Daniel is super high level and a tremendous teacher.
Absolutely loved this instructional. I've been hitting this left and right and has really helped open up my game even if it's just to create space for opportunities. Side note. Daniel is out of Hesperia California and is an amazing person. I've been lucky enough to have the pleasure of just being destroyed in is guard.
empty half
