Great videos! They have really improved my rolls.
Amazing content well delivered, very thorough instructional that I find myself going back to over and over.
Au top comme d'habitude.
good introduction to half guard
Excellent video!
Superb.
As always John Danaher gives a masterclass on half guard. I appreciate his approach and explanations for how to utilize a position that can often make or break you. Well worth it!
This program has great techniques for half guard that I can apply right away as a white belt
I feel like he's my instructor that I've never met. Extremely knowledgeable, intelligent, organized, and detail oriented. He's also occasionally funny. Danaher's instructionals are long and heavy with details. Watching these instructionals is exciting but it's also work. Your understanding will greatly benefit if you put the work in.
Waited too long to ****** this up. As an older (40+ Blue Belt) grappler it’s a smart choice to use half to my advantage. Even if it’s not as flashy or fun. This is phenomenal teaching and techniques
great
This might be my favourite of the Go Further Faster series. I have quite short legs so I've found some closed guard stuff challenging. I really like that half guard is accessible to all body types and am excited to put some of these insights into action. There's some overlap with the Pin Escapes series of course. But I like that they build off each other and reiterate important info. I have used the pin escapes videos to get out from bottom side control and mount. Now this series is the next step to transitioning into my own offense.
This series of instructional is really a must. It allows you to understand the logic and rationale behind the basics in a way that you won´t forget and will allow to put that in practice easily.
This instructional shows the fundamental techniques from Half Guard Bottom, with the key concepts, which is always there in the Go Further Faster series, very helpful to understand and memorize.
Professor John Danaher developed a great teaching system overall. What makes this instructional super special is that he first introduces the concepts and principles of half guard from both perspectives and then breaks the techniques down from the worst petspective to regain uppet body control. Aftetwards he devides this instructional into series. At the end of each series there is a summary. In case of put into reverse half guard you got sweeping and back take options also summarized! ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!!
Great introduction!!
This product have made half guard my go to guard, and it will help you learn a system that can be your go to for the rest of your time in jiu-jitsu
I've been using half guard as my main guard since white belt, and have always felt good there. But writing now around 1.5 years after first watching this instructional, I have to say that this massively improved my half guard game and took it to a new level. I use so much of this instructional, so often, and have phenomenal success with it against strong talented training partners. Having recently started coaching, half guard is one of the positions that I feel I understand best, and this instructional is a big part of that. The knee lever has become my literal most used move, and it's incredible how much success I have with it. Can't say enough good things about this instructional. I would definitely recommend it.
Great intro to half guard for beginners. Alot of good information
I haven't been doing bjj for long (12 weeks) but before I even started I was watching and listening to a couple of Danaher's instructionals to hit the ground running. Still felt like I knew basically nothing day one, but don't let that detract you! I started with guard retention and pin escapes, which as I now understand are the hardest parts of bjj to begin with. I was the only white belt in my gym so it was difficult to see how much I was improving, but after going on holiday and training briefly at a bigger gym in another country, turns out that I was much better than I thought and I credit a lot of it to these videos. I can already give early blue belts a hard time, and most white belts can't even compete with me, even those who have been doing it quite bit longer than I have. After diving into the half guard instructional recently, I've barely scratched the surface and it has already made my game so much better. I'm taking my time with these instructionals and find myself going back to lessons over and over again. Every detail Danaher gives is crucial. It's easy to forget or ignore details, even on moves that seem so simple, but every time I have difficulty implementing a move I go back to the section and every time I have an "aha!" moment that fixes my issue. Anyways, this video is great, and the more you practice and internalize the information, the more dangerous you'll be for sure. Take it with a grain of salt because I'm a white belt nooblette after all, but its helped me a ton!
Just finished watching this instructional from John Danaher on half guard. The way he breaks it down and explains everything is brilliant, he doesn’t leave any stone unturned. Elbow escapes, double elbow escapes, kuzushi, how to use half butterfly on half guard, roll through, back takes from half guard, lapel techniques from half guard, knee levers, dealing with reverse half guard, I mean John is just an Einstein of Bjj. I enjoyed it so much that I had to purchase another of his instructionals on pin escapes. Definitely worth it if you want to improve your half guard game.
If you're looking to learn half guard this is the best instructional to start with.
Good stuff, as always from Danaher
I am an amateur practitioner and only train twice a week. However, I have been training for over 10 years and I can tell you my half guard game has progressed more in this last month than the previous decade. Professor Danaher is nothing short of a magician with his ability to teach and link all lessons together. do yourself a favour and learn from this man
Half Guard for me has always been a uncomfortable topic because I needed more help to understand the points my professor taught. But watching and studying this instructional allowed me to better grasp the positon as a whole and gave me a boost in understanding what I learned in class. 5 stars!
