A nice introduction on how to make half guard more effective against difficult opponents,
From the first two modules I already understand the missing details that were causing me massive headaches in my bottom game.. I put the details into action right away and have experienced a big improvement in my game. Great content ! P.S. I love punching back and forth between

Half guard by John Danaher
Bjj fanatics is the goat when it comes to both content, and customer service. Never seen a company go to the lengths they do to insure they're customers are happy with their purchase. Highly recommend.
good
I inherently gravitate towards a half-guard game, and this video definitely improved my game! Prof Danaher does an excellent job explaining the how and the why when it comes to these techniques, and the general philosophy. This video is well worth the money, and I highly recommend!
I had seen some of the instructionals of the enter the system series so I was familiar with Danaher's style and expected a high quality product but the GFF series provide something that a rookie that started at 41 like me needs like water in the desert... TIME!!!! I explain myself, from GFF I got a plan, an overview of what should be expected and what should I do in every situation, guard retention, half guard, open guard... So I skipped years of try and error. I go to class, roll, take mental note of my failures, go back to THE SOURCE find the answer and next time you should try something different because it is not gonna work again with me. In the case of half guard it provides dominance, I have a clear picture of what I should do in half guard so I control the situation. I am in control, sometimes I fail to perform what I am thinking out of pure clumsiness but I know what is my failure and what I should do next time. When I roll with higher white belts, blue belts, people stronger or heavier than me they don't expect that someone with 30 hours of rolling sweep them, escape and sometimes finish them. I devoted massive amounts of time to study these instructionals during the lockdown and it now pays off. When you get old time becomes priceless, here in bjjfanatics these guys are selling you time in exchange of money. I paid gladly so far and I feel extremely grateful. Yesterday I was rolling and the blue belt I was rolling with after passing my de la Riva a couple of times explained me how I had a year of two of defeats before starting winning, two tripod sweeps and a Sumi gaeshi later from my part he was being explained by our instructor not to let all weight forward into my guard to prevent further Sumi gaeshis, John Danaher explained me that sooner... The final combat finished with me in top side position. I would call them the fast forward series :)
The content is excellent in all regards.
Tons of fine detail that make the true difference in making any given technique work. some of these sweeps i learn 10 years ago but this series has brought new insight to those moves.
Grey video, helped a lot and worth every penny
Excellent instructional!!
Danaher would be able to teach anything with equal success - from bjj to nuclear physics.
Love John's stuff. He breaks it down so that the concepts sink into your thinking
This a great video series.
I have 3 of his instructionals and I'm planning on buying a 4th. Danaher doesn't know this, but he has become my #1 teacher. I learn from his videos and then go implement it training. I can go on. I'm very appreciative that he put these vids out. They're awesome
Unbelievable quality. The painstaking detail and variation/progression of camera angles make John's videos priceless investments. This Half-Guard series gives endless explanations of each detail as it seems ONLY Mr. Danaher is capable. The trifecta of roll-through sweep, take-down, or back take finally all make sense and are now coming to me in live rolling. The elbow escape finally explains the key to regaining attacking position. Three ways to gain the tight-waist underhook? Thank you! I've watched the first six discs each at least once. Discs two through five I've re-watched multiple times and have taken notes. He provides solo drills to aid in pulling off the fundamental moves which is also helpful when no partners are available. The single most important thing to do to improving your half-guard game is to buy this video.
Learned a lot of basic concepts to get me started in half guard, get comfortable in the position, and start experimenting with some sweeps. Definitely improved my game and understanding of the position.
Gives great direction on how to start improving my half guard game.
