This was very good I've never used half gaurd and now have created a whole.game from it .John's knowledge is beyond anything I can comprehend he needs to do a mma instructional or a boxing or muah thai
The only skill more essential than this is pin escaping. GFF Half Guard will teach you how to never be shut down again and always threaten your opponent from bad positions or neutral ones.
So much info but broken down very very, each section builds on the next
Great Video!
Very good instructional by JD. There is a lot to learn but great breakdown of echt technique and the concepts. Will help me through the years!
Nice
I really enjoyed this and thought it was extremely comprehensive for a fundamentals series.
Danaher really explains in detail every single thing about the moves and concepts he teaches it is very enjoyable and easy to grasp, highly recommend it
Nice
Best tutorial to help you learn half guard!
After only a few watches my son was correcting mistakes he was repeatedly making at practice

A brilliant series created by John. A great, well-made learning resource.
Please don't watch this video series. I want it to be my secret. I've watched a lot of videos in the past. This one made me feel like I was teleporting past all my training partners. It's unbelievable. So many really cool insights.
Just typically awesome from Dannaher
Half guard is what I have been focusing on. Imo don't spin your wheels working on closed guard. Learn whatever they teach in class, try to be adequate. But if you want more bang for your buck focus on other guards. Half guard is awesome. Danaher covers things I have studied from other people but gives added detail or he focuses on different elements. I've watched only the first of 8 videos and I already have things I expect to use to inflict my will on my training partners tonight.
Its been a great experience using all of these videos. There are a million more I want to see. Gotta take it slow though.
Excellent
Best ever

A complete blueprint for turning one of BJJ’s toughest positions into a true attacking hub. Danaher breaks down structure, underhooks, and connection so clearly that half guard stops feeling defensive and starts feeling dominant. Every detail builds toward sweeps, back takes, and submissions with purpose. Pure gold for anyone wanting to control and attack from the bottom.
This video breaks down the half guard system like none other. Pose dilemmas to your opponent and capitalize every time. I tried finding all this info on YouTube and came up short. This is THE half-guard.instructuonal.
Great insightful content as usual, relayed in a very comprehensive way by coach Danaher.
John Danaher’s GFF Half Guard system breaks down the position into clear, structured pathways. His principle-based teaching provides effective strategies for sweeps, submissions, and transitions, making half guard a powerful, reliable position for grapplers of all skill levels.
