Very useful for beginners, exactly what I needed at the time. I especially appreciated the section on judo takedowns. We happened to be drilling those in class, and this resource filled in the details I was missing
Great intro to bjj, recommended
Great video for someone like me. Who is starting out. I wish jiu jitsu had in person beginner courses like this.
I was looking for a step-by-step basics/intro to BJJ and this was exactly what I was looking for.
good overview of what BJJ is and what to expect as a beginner
I love this video as a reminder of all the stuff I learned years ago, and still do automatically, but are nessecary to explain.
Great video you get your money worth
Simple, straight forward instructions, new information, strong basic skills for offense and defense, in a clear systematic order… Highly recommended!!!
Great intro video. It’s interesting to see how one of the best teams views the fundamentals of BJJ.
i love the self-defense, great detail and information, i use all the techniques in my class, the students love it
This is a basic introduction to BJJ. Prof. Galvao starts off how to conduct, oneself on the mat with proper etiquette briefly. Begins to go into warm ups and techniques into self defense. I have run through the entire instructional and genuinely believe it is worth it's weight. Coming from a Judo background and blue belt in BJJ, think you will learn skills the average purple belt won't know. A white belt, who trained Judo, for a year can hold his own standing with average bjj purple belts. Pro. Galvao gives basic Judo moves in a SD scenario... Taking my time on this review to explain to people who just want to protect themselves and people who train BJJ already. Everything info helps, especially from a world champion! Details, details! Supplement your game, with basic fundamental concepts for SD. Expose yourself with this knowledge and mitigate the surprise factor in a street fight. There is tough guys out there, that don't train BJJ but can knock you out in certain situations... Stay hungry and don't be complacent. I heard Rickson Gracie say one time "there is too many black belts, who don't know self defense..." I will take his word for it! All in all learn from this and share it with loves ones. Never know. You can always return it, if not satisfied.
