As I get older I can't scramble the way I used to anymore. As a smaller guy I find myself on my back quite a bit. Rather than traditional closed guards which a lot of the sweeps and submissions can be stuffed by more experienced level above white belt, the lasso guard works well. It connects you to your opponent, there's many options for sweeps and submissions. There are counters, for different reactions. I do like Marcos opinion about sticking to either the lasso, or the spider guard separately rather than a combination of both.
awesome explanation and concepts
Great instructional, a lot of interesting techniques. Marcos shows that the lasso guard can be a lot more than a defensive postion.
Very clear instructions. Concise and minimal repetitions. Good change of angles.
Great instructional I have big floppy feet and am finding this guard working for me more and more thanks to this instructional.
Best person to learn the lasso from; has dedicated years of their BJJ learning all aspects of the Lasso guard. I've picked up the video to support a great teacher and to learn a game works in high level competitions.
Admittedly, this move feels a bit above my skill set, but I've been seeing Lasso work so well in my club that I wanted some insights. There's nothing not covered if you want to understand it from every angle.
the approach is quite old school, especially toward the teaching method. in any case, it's a really good introduction to the position.
Excellent transitions and attacks from the lasso. As a smaller grappler this is a great guard when going against larger opponenets. I've used it several times to sweep bigger, stronger guys.
Have really enjoyed playing more lasso after continuously getting stuffed. After this series, my percentages have gone way up.
Great vid !
Makes understanding it so simple

This instructional has helped improve my understanding of the Lasso.
Great instructional video, helped me very much with the sweeps. This is an amazing instructional and it has definetly improve my guard
Amazing breaking down of set ups and working from lasso guard. I would always get to lasso position and was not too sure how to take advantage of it. Really benefited from the different sweeps and inverted submission options. Many of the techniques were very easy to incorporate once I started bringing them into training. If you are looking for more options from lasso, this instructional is an excellent choice. Very happy with this instructional.
A must for any lasso player! This is the best lasso instructional I have seen to date. Marcos does an excellent job of explaining the finer details in regards to grips, angles and positioning. I am extremely satisfied with this instructional!
Good
Great details took my last game to a new level! Thanks so much....
The video gave me a basic blueprint of how to use the lasso. Simple to understand and I was able to implement some techniques immediately.
i am a guard player and lasso is one of my fav positions, even after years of abusing it i still learned from this. does not require flexibility or athleticism, just positionning and leverage. Great instructionnal
Good Techniques ! Good explanations ! Improved my lasso game and it works in sparring very well!
