this was very good instructional for low mount control and submissions for example arm triangle. the video is organized in very constructive ''easy to learn '' way. if you are interested in learning the basics of ''low mount'' control and attaks, l strogly recommend to watch this instructional. you will understand the fundamentals of mount in Jiujitsu!
Pros: This video series DOES have content that I, as a black belt, have not seen taught before. It has already made my mount top maintenance (staying on top in mount and not getting escaped upon) about 3-5x better. Very legit content. Cons: It appears that something happened when BJJFanatics uploaded this content from SBG; the video quality is compressed, with what appears to be super slow framerate and audio synching issues. Comparing this to one of SBG's videos on Youtube is night and day: the Youtube videos are actually far better quality than what I paid BJJFanatics for. Another issue is that the chapter descriptions are misleading. One chapter is called "Taking the back" but it is LITERALLY just copied/pasted content from earlier in the video series, with nothing new, and actually ZERO INFORMATION on taking the back! Was this an editing, or uploading error? I don't know, but it sucks to be mislead like that and not learn how to take the back from mount when it says that you will. One more issue is that for the amount of content, a good portion of it is simply Matt's student's drilling the moves, or drilling escape moves that have zero bearing on the theme of the video series. I can think of one instance in the video series where one of Matt's students applies the technique incorrectly, he corrects her and then the move works. That was a good inclusion but 90% of the other drilling video material was useless. Overall I would say that this video series was a good purchase but it could have been formatted way better, content and quality-wise.
This instructional will teach you to maintain the mount and give you the ability and confidence to apply submissions from this position. It is presented as a training course of 15 lessons. The instructional covers posture (using the whole body), pressure, appropriate responses to your opponent’s movements including grabbing, pushing, rolling, upas, the hydraulic lift and elbow/knee escapes, plus several efficient and effective submissions. Each lesson of the instructional shows the technique being taught, associated drills and is supported by footage from the material being taught in a seminar. The instructions are clear, the angles of the camera and the sound quality are excellent. I found the material interesting, the standard of presentation is high, and if you take the time to watch and digest this information your ability to hold mount will significantly improve.
This is the easiest to implement and learn instructional I have ever watched. Started using the techniques from day one and this has completely changed my mount attacks and maintenance. Well worth purchasing.
I've been training and watching BJJ instructionals for a very long time. This is THE best instructional I have ever seen regarding the mount position. Well worth the cost for the content covered.
