Very detailed breakdown of open guard positions, entries and situations. The additional detail helped me improve positions that I often used in my game and allowed me to develop more options from those positions.
Let me tell you that Danahers new wave jiu jitsu is really a new wave, learning how to wrestle up and be confident while doing it is huge!
Fantastic instructional!
Awesome content!!
This was a gift
This video identifies not just the core techniques which will give you the most mileage and are the most robust while playing open guard. It also provides you with a general strategy of how to play the open guard in the first place (for nogi). While the first chapter of open guard helps you build a foundation game of open guard and not loose the position, this one teaches you how to go after you opponent and attack. I would still recommend buying other videos from Danaher, but if you can only afford one, this would definitely be my top pick.
Well thought and structured! Loved all the concepts and the way they were explained.
As always, great stuff from John Danaher.
Great!
You'll be getting awesome materials from these videos! Highly recommended.
Hard to go wrong with any Danaher instructional
This is an awesome product as always from John Danaher. This is the way I now teach and think about nogi jiu-jitsu.
love John as a man and an instructor
Like always a real game changer
Great stuff. You can’t go wrong with anything Danaher. Great explanation of concepts behind the techniques. Pricey of course, but still worth every penny.
This instructional is well thought out, well explained, and easy to understand. I am very new to the sport of jiu jitsu and this has been a great addition to my training. I would assume this would help all levels. Great Instructional !
Great instructional video !
His best Instructional today!
John explains the most efficient ways to attack in open guard. He explains the best attacks against a standing and kneeling opponent and which submissions are most successful. This is a great instructional on combining jiu-jitsu and wrestling which is needed in the sport.
Understanding all the dilemmas used and the Sumi Gaeshi chapters have been game changers
Sweeps and Reversals is the best instructional I have seen so far. In my opinion, it is excellent value for money. John Danaher covers a lot of topics and goes into detail on everything covered. It's like getting multiple instructionals for the price of one. Not only does it cover sweeps and reversals, but it also covers submissions from those sweeps/reversals. I would highly recommend any of JD's instructionals, but I found this one particularly excellent.
