ari is a great instructor, and covers material usually left out of instructionals. the off balancing bits are especially helpful
You can spend years collecting all the little details to make up an open guard... or you can just watch this instructional.
Very nice overview of open guard
really nice skills
NICE
This instructional has help me with my guard so much!!! All the details you haven’t seen before! Just amazed!
Ariel Tabak breaks down the open guard and gives many details. The sections "micro-battles" and "summary" are extremely usefull. the techniques are efficient and can be applied immediatly in training.
I love all of the small details that Ariel goes over.
I discovered Ariel thanks to his Guard Retention DVD with Lachlan Giles. His teaching style really convinced. In this instructional, Ariel explains both the techniques and the concept so we understand how it works and why. He gives lots of details, I was able to apply very usefull advices from the first video. Ariel often refers to the weight distribution and the off balance we can create in each position, and different options according to our partner reaction. The summaries are very useful too. His pedagogy is on top!
Excellent ideas! Hours of watching ideas and concepts in to the details. One of the best videos on BJJ Fanatics!
A. T. put toghether a great instructional on upper body guards. It delivers a profund overview of all common variations AND points out keydetails too. Perfect for overall understanding of connection and transitions inbetween this guards. Definitely worth it!

The way Ariel teaches and the value of him explaining things from both the bottom and top perspective yields sooo much value. I was pleasantly surprised at how much information was here. Ariel is an amazing teacher, if you want a deep understanding of open guard, you must get it.
Made massive improvements to this area of my guard thanks to this DVD. I ****** at upper body guards but now after a short time of watching this DVD I can already see improvements. Absolutely recommend!
This is a great collection of upper body guards, and way the course is designed makes learning very effective. You can see influences of other instructionals in Ariel’s set up with his own style .
