Clear and unique take on position. Lot of ankle lock set ups that are useful for non heel hook attacks
Been lucky enough to train with Jason in person, his online instructionals are just as great as his in person sessions.
You can see Uke fighting for his life
This is an excellent instructional, expanding upon Jason's previous series "Dynamic Outside Ashi - Leg Attacks". This instructional focuses on the heel hook & ankle lock dilemma. There is some overlap with Jason's previous releases, but many new options are covered and previously unseen details are shown. Jason's instruction is clear, detailed, and insightful. However, like all of Jason's instructionals, this set is fast, dense, and deep. Most students will need to re-watch this instructional several times to absorb all the details. I think this instructional would be most useful to students who have already studied Jason's "Dynamic Outside Ashi - Leg Attacks" and "Dynamic Ankle Locks." I would also recommend Jason's other instructional sets "Understanding The Reap" and "Dynamic NoGi 50/50" which all complement this set.
Jason rau makes outside Ashi make sense. Before this, I had trouble finding leverage from this position, but now it is solid.
Everything I needed to know about outside ashi
This has helped me with my leglocks exponentially
JR has taught me more about leg locks than anyone else and this is a great continuation of it
Jason Rau’s Outside Ashi Reloaded stands out because it is forged in the heat of high-level competition. Rather than teaching static patterns, Rau shares a battle-tested methodology that reflects his deep, personal evolution in the leg lock game. His approach is uniquely analytical, treating lower-body submissions as a fluid strategic exchange rather than a forced sequence. By blending his intuitive mat sense with clinical precision, Rau provides practitioners with a sophisticated blueprint that works against elite resistance. It is a rare glimpse into the mind of a specialist who truly owns his craft.
Excellence of teaching. Jason Rau is gifted. I really enjoyed our conversation these Ashi series. Thanks JR
The details and innovative tactics in this instructional are gold.
This instructional has really helped me level up my leg attacks significantly in a remarkably short amount of time.
Jason Ray, one the best to ever train the sport, and to instruct it. Comprehensive, straight forward, and simplified concepts that has improved my leg lock game.
Love him as a teacher
I didn’t liked or used Outside Ashi…big mistake!!! Till now, Jason really have reconciled me with the OA. From grounded, kneeled or standing opponent, several ways to submit are showed. This is the second time i watch a instructional from Mr Rau and not the last.
Great overview of modern outside saddle!
I have always been a leg locker. But Jason’s outside ashi series 1 & 2 have added a completely new dimension to my game. When I get to these positions I submit people who are far better than me over and over again. Outside heel hooks require more technical precision, but once you have the mechanics correct, it is far more accessible than the inside heel hook imo. In fact, All of Jason’s content has been outstanding and has improve my game immensely. His techniques are concise, and simply a better way to do things. All his work is extremely good value for money and if you have any position you want to improve in and he has a dvd for it. Buy it.
Wish they were more ankle lock versions of it but it was good
A lot of modern techniques on it. Pretty good techniques

Happily got this to reinforce what I learned from him at a seminar. Excellent and modern leg locks.
More options and attacks from outside ashi, dynamic movements patterns
Such a great instructional! Easily one of my favorites.
Can’t hate on a Rau instructional, in my opinion this is much better than his last Outside Ashi one
