Great Info!!
This really helps you to pin your opponent, plus Craigs is very clear on the lessons and is always fun to watch.
I found this instruction very interesting as it takes a non-traditional approach to tackle many problems that we take for granted with the traditional Jiu-Jitsu mindset. We all know how difficult securing a position or pass can be for some players who know what techniques you use to achieve your goal. Craig's approach offers a solution that perhaps establishing a ride between these positions can be just as effective as a way to control, wear down, frustrate and ultimately pin or submit the opponent. I think the positions that Craig advocates for could also be especially effective when punches are involved, so I will be on the lookout for some of these to appear in the MMA-based grappling game.
Outside the box ideas. Best dvd
This is an awesome series that really explains how the branches of no-gi grappling (point vs sub only) should properly diverge. The goals are different, and the pins SHOULD be different. Craig is a fantastic instructor and as we know and love is one of the best effed up grappling humorists on the planet. B-team Proud! :)
Excellent video!
We are always looking for the next thing to add to our game. This for me is it. Often we pass to positions of control such as sidecontrol and mount. However due to these positions so being used to much defence and escapes are also highly taught. So to find a additional step before we get to these positions that completely break your partner's will to defend or escape is an incredible addition to my own jiu jitsu thought process and if highly recommend this instructional.
I like the way Craig teaches. This is more of a new concept to BJJ that is more control oriented than points. Its definitely something I'm going to have work on. I have already seen some of this in use from one of our better MMA guys who was a former All American wrestler. Definitely techniques worth learning as it would probably improve everyone's bjj.
Not Craig's best instructional some of the moves listed were just jokes. Funny but I felt let down with the baby seal. The concepts in the video are invaluable though and the techniques are the direction jiujitsu seems to be heading. A few great concepts repeatedly explained.
Having a wrestling background, I love that Craig Jones is incorporating so much wrestling into jiu jitsu. So many of these positions are similar it identical to what I did in wrestling and be teaches them in a way that leads to submission rather than a wrestling pin. Incredible.
Just what I’ve needed for learning more on progressive ideas of control. Definitely recommend it!
This can be implemented right away with success at any level. Really outstanding information. I secretly hope not many people learn this so I can keep the secrets to myself!
I lost a F2W event because I didn't prioritize control and pressure. Interestingly, my jiu jitsu game was the opposite of my wrestling game. My jiu jitsu was purely submission attacks with little thought on position. My wrestling was alot of leg riding that kept my opponent flattened out belly down. After that loss, I worked harder to integrate a lot of my controlling wrestling into my jiu jitsu. My ultimate goal was to get guys bellydown with no options. When I got to those positions I could use my tools from wrestling to control and my tools from jiu jitsu to submit. It was working well but I had a tough time stopping guys rolling to their back. This instructional had the missing piece that connected my top wrestling to my jiu jitsu. I recommend this to wrestlers especially. Side note my MMA grappling has gone up as well. Combining wrestling and jiu jitsu has allowed me to get to ground and pound positions that are debilitating for people to escape from. I have wrestled for ten years and done jiujitsu for 3.5 years.
This was well worth the money. I was able to use the information right away. Craig does a very good job of combining simple but very effective techniques with clear conceptual coaching concepts. I’m a 4 tip blue belt. I train both Gi and no Gi. I’m 56 years young and I’m able to even the playing field with the young guys at my academy using this information. Great stuff!
At first graze over of the instructional, I could see how this could be taken as a troll. But, Craig explains the details of each lower body control and upper body control and how this instructional is a Complement to a game you should already have. He does go over entries to the various pins and the hierarchy of those pins but, having said that this instructional has been a huge addition to my game the splitting the legs pin causes an amazing dilemma that leads to awesome submission opportunities, the arm in Ezekiel being the highest percentage for me, also you do not have to be a heavier set grappler to apply these pins so don't look at this instructional as a big grapplers only instructional (even though the heavier guys getting ahold of this will be extremely happy with the results) well worth the price to add a nice experimental building block to your jiu jitsu game that WILL become a staple in your game
Really enjoyed this one. A new take on how to control someone. Excellent detail on end goals, and how to get there. Ties in nicely with Craig’s fun and games way of presenting seriously good stuff. Would recommend for any no gi player looking to add more to their pinning game.
Craig is onto something with his power pins. You can extend your game with it and for me it feels like they fill a gap in this sport.
a new outlook on pinning opponents, modern meta for sure!
Craig’s new concepts and strategies on seeking control positions which lead to submissions, over point scoring positions, are incredible.
Pin your opponent in ways they never been pinned before
Great instructional video !
This style of grappling is gonna dominate everyone! One of my favorite instructional ever, and I have a lot
