Amazing
Great instructional. Really amazing details on maintaining and advancing positions in side control. I've been hitting a lot of the submissions in training the past few weeks. 10/10 recommend.

Really helped my side control game. The detail Andrew gives is easily implemented. This has been the most influential instructional I’ve found. The Super Ezekiel is my go to submission a year into this journey. Highly recommend for white belts looking to get better at side control.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Absolutely fantastic!
Between the personality and the techniques, I can find nothing to complain about when watching this instructional. It's like drilling in class: Personal, full of laughs, but still with a focus on getting things done right.

Phenomenal! Used the super Ezekiel the day after I purchased this to submit a few people during class!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Control, submissions and transitions from side control (long Review)
In this instructional (taught in a Gi) Andrew Wiltse teaches how to effectively control an opponent being pinned in side control; a side control submission series, often involving the use of the opponent’s lapel; several transitions to the mount and back; for the more common side control submissions he also highlights some of the important details that are often overlooked; and throughout the instruction he discusses his thought processes when planning an attack from a specific position. The instructional runs for 2 hours 4 minutes and consists of 22 chapters. Vol 1 (27 minutes) teaches how to hold the opponent in side control, scarf hold, and knee on belly (full and half knee). Andrew Wiltse highlights the need to focus on actively pressuring your opponent, including isolating and controlling their nearside arm before thinking about submitting them. The format of Vol 1 is appropriately a discussion with demonstrations around the topic rather than technique A step 1, 2, 3 etc. Vol 2 (36 minutes) teaches multiple methods to isolate the opponent’s nearside arm; several ways to transition to the mount; how to safely and effectively open the far side lapel as a prelude to controlling their far side arm; how to catch, trap and pin their far side arm within their own lapel; how to perform a Ezekiel choke, described as the Super Ezekiel using the opponent's lapel with two variations, one where they withdraw their far side arm from the wrapped lapel and another where this arm stays within the wrapped lapel; and a wristlock when the opponent’s far side arm is trapped and controlled using their lapel. Vol 3 (30 minutes) teaches a step over armbar where the opponent’s arm has firstly been temporarily trapped using their leg or using your arm and a triangle version of the armbar with the option to use this entry for a triangle choke; a triangle armbar or triangle choke where the entry involves raising and manipulating the opponent’s body; an option to open the opponent’s lapel and pull the lapel up behind their head, which results in raising the opponent’s head off the mat and opens a range of submissions including a cross collar choke or a bravo or darce choke, if they defend the cross collar choke; a transition to the back through the use of the opponent’s lapel pulled behind their head to lift, access and take their back; and the last chapter covers the bread cutter-choke. Vol 4 (31 minutes) teaches how to develop and maintain good levels of shoulder pressure on the opponent, including how to choke them by just using your shoulder pressure, or transitioning to the head and arm choke or using the threat of a shoulder pressure choke to assist in transitioning to the mount; how to do a tight spinning armbar with information on how to deal with the opponent’s counters; a kimura when the opponent is pulled up onto one shoulder, a version with an unusual entry that uses your leg to hook behind their head and raise their body, a version involving sprawling your body and raising their shoulder off the mat and this chapter includes information on how to deal with kimura counters; and the last teaching chapter provides an overview, incorporating lots of good details of the Americana from side control. Andrew Wiltse is a confident and knowledgeable instructor. He is easy to understand and occasionally likes to slip in a bit of colourful language. He clearly demonstrates and fully explains each technique. As is the norm techniques are repeated and he ensures that the important details are highlighted. The order of content of this instructional is logical and flows well. Overall, the range, quality of the vision and sound is good. A single fixed camera has been used and the range of the camera is good. The available previews are consistent with the whole instructional. Overall, if you are interested in improving your control from side control and perhaps wanting to develop your side control submissions and transitions to take advantage of the option to control the opponent’s far side lapel and incorporating this lapel control into your submissions then this is a good instructional to purchase. As a bonus Andrew Wiltse also teaches a range of submission techniques that don’t involve the opponent’s lapel and even if you know these techniques (i.e., the material covered in Vol 4) then this instructional may assist you to review, improve and refine these techniques.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Awesome Instructional
Hands down one of the best instructionals on this website. Andrew cuts right to the chase, with absolutely no overly repetitive concepts and explains every technique extremely well. And it's not just submissions, but also control and how to maintain dominant positions.
