• Great course about a very versatile submission

  This instructional was already very useful for me as a white belt a couple years ago, but now that I've been a blue belt for a while, I am noticing so much more details that I never saw when I just started and decided to buy this instructional. Rewatching this instructional a couple years later with a better understanding of jiu jitsu was definitely the right call! This instructional got me from being the guy who could only finish a kimura by force to using the kimura in many different scenarios, even against opponents who are a lot heavier and stronger than me. This instructional is a must for everyone who is looking to step up their submission game with the kimura and the entire system around it!

  The Kimura was my first successful submission. However, because this technique is so simple, it is also easy to defend. Since opponents can anticipate it and prepare, it's not easy to finish. This lecture/lesson teaches creative ways to use the Kimura.

Holanda walks through how to maintain and finish the kimura once you have the initial grip: if your partner tries to hide their arm, counter, pass the half-guard and counter with an arm bar, etc., Holanda shows how to keep hunting for the finish. Also a good model for older grapplers.
