A good look at crossbody control.
So all the information you would want to learn is in this set. It covers stuff you may have forgotten and covers stuff you never learned. I would recommend this video to anyone basic to intermediate or anyone who is interested in a more traditional system of side controle.

There is not much more to say about Roger Gracie as he is one of the most well known competitors and the Goat. His side control details are really a game changer are good to implement. He gives a lot of strong details and builds a system of reactions around the basic position.

This instructional covers how to control and attack from side control top. It is taught in the Gi and has a total runtime of 2 hours and 32 minutes. In summary, the attacks taught include: a kimura where you feint a mount attempt forcing the opponent to defend with their far side arm, which provides the opportunity to attack their arm; a lapel choke, using your own Gi, commencing in side control and finishing in a north-south position; the papercutter choke; an opportunistic wristlock; a baseball bat choke; reverse triangle choke with the options for either a straight arm lock, americana or kimura; a step-over triangle choke; and using an initial kimura grip to gain a strong and simple straight arm lock. Positional movements taught include side control to the mount; side control to back control; and using switch base to move to the mount. Roger Gracie notes that different body types lead to preferences in the choice of submission techniques. His advice is to first have good control, stabilise and then attack, which might initially involve progressing the position. He recommends focusing on a limited number of submission techniques and to become very good at these techniques. Roger Gracie speaks clearly and can be easily understood. He is focused on the subject matter, however there is a little playful interaction with his father, who is the uke in this instructional. He presents professionally and provides the necessary detail to ensure that each technique will work reliably. Techniques are taught including the likely responses from the opponent and generally techniques are repeated, but not in all cases. Video (quality including range and focus) and sound are good. The filming is I assume at his academy and there is some occasional background noise of people talking, laughing and what sounds like mat noise from throwing, but it is not intrusive. The instructional appears to have been filmed with a fixed camera. The available previews are consistent with the whole instructional. There is one issue to be aware of and that relates to the fact that demonstrations are not done in a way to fully ensure that you can clearly see all angles, with demonstrations tending to be done front on to the camera. A notable exception to this, is the chapter on using switch base to mount. In summary, in my opinion this is a good instructional to assist in improving your control and submissions from side control top. A select number of effective submissions are taught, which is not a bad thing as it helps when trying to learn, practice and memorise the content. In my experience it is not difficult to stay focused while watching and it is an easy instructional to watch multiple times.

Roger doesn't have the longest instructionals - the focus is always on teaching the simple fundamentals effectively so that you can apply them masterfully to get the tap and this is no different. I love this side control series as it allows me to revisit and supercharge my game. Love his teaching style - perfect level of detail, not too conceptual and completely makes sense. BJJ Gold.

If you've ever heard Roger say something along the lines of he can count the positions/moves he can do on one hand (paraphrasing here), I believe this whole side control system is on of them. The devil is always in the details and it is in this instructional you will find a different world of details you didn't even know existed. Some you potentiallt may have been doing without realising but most probably not and will be new to you and will definiately improve your game. Roger is awesome and so is this video series, the way he breaks down certain techniques and explains WHY he's doing them is like being in the mind of Gandalf. Buy this one, you wont regret it.
