This is a great instructional for a largely ignored part of the game. I highly recommend this instructional.
Great value. Applicable techniques and concepts. Hope to get more from Telles in the future.
Eduardo Telles is a legend. He explains the moves of his turtle game with clarity and humor. It certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities you have when you're in Turtle. I can highly recommend this DVD. Only downside is that the DVD is rather short. I hope there will be a follow up DVD produced which also includes some narrative rolling.
This is a really good 100 minutes of making the turtle a very dangerous position for your opponent. Checkmating your opponents with counter intuitive moves is a really interesting way to bridge the skills gap. I am certain these moves will help a lot of people stay competitive against higher belts. Telles is very smart and has a great way of explaining comlex movements by simplyfying them. You would think Eduardo is by nature a defensive fighter but he is also a great kickboxer and his striking is very aggressive. All around good purchase if you drill this you will make great leaps.
Excellent. If you are a judo player and have a habit of moving to turtle as I do, this is for you
Since I started training, I’ve had bigger and stronger training partners, ending up in bad positions is hard for beginners, this is a great way to learn to be patient and get out of “bad situations”. Telles explains everything with great detail, please give it a try and you will see the effectiveness of the turtle guard! Pura Vida!
I remember having the original turtle guard dvd's back in the day. This is a fantastic update to a little explored position in Jiu Jitsu. Just because it doesn't score, doesn't mean it's not important.
Great product for a defensive player
Haven’t had a chance to watch the entire video yet but just based on what I have watched, I opened up many options from the turtle position. Though I would put myself in the turtle on purpose, if I end up in the position , I feel confident in my defense and use the sweeps quite often.
All of his skills were verified at the World Congress. I hope your Jiu-Jitsu develops in this video where you can see his skills.
It's really amazing. Someone says it's useless and wrong, but these turtle techniques are ways we can overcome when there's a risk. Teles proved his skills in the game. Thanks to Teles for studying the position of Turtle.
For anyone that does not have a wrestling background I think this dvd is a great way to learn some of the basic turtle movements. From simple rolls and sweeps to some really good back takes and submissions its a great value on a lot of information.
The instruction was what I was looking for, but I wish some of the details were explained better. For example, one of the techniques he shows he kinda straightens one leg and rolls. I don't think he explains this though. My coach has shown me this detail on different techniques. If not for this I wouldn't realize what exactly he was doing. That being said I think I can incorporate alot of this into my game and it makes sense. For the order and convenience if digital you can't go wrong.
