Most important subject to me
Although I have some experience in other martial arts, I started BJJ at age 50! The MOST important thing to me while training is not injuring my training partner or getting injured myself. I’m grateful for John Danaher for this phenomenal primer on the topic. The only suggestion I would have is to see if the material could be presented more succinctly.
Stay Safe
Thanks John for taking care of us!
ruduce of injury
"Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that utilizes both strength and body weight. Unexpected injuries always occur. However, the risk of injury can certainly be reduced with an understanding of dangerous techniques and consideration for your opponent. The culture of the dojo (or academy) is extremely important. A culture of respecting your opponent and growing together is essential. If it becomes a survival game, the team disappears."
