Great Overview
Dr. Mike is a well established authority in strength and conditioning - and his attitude of remaining open to new info and changing attitudes and protocols keeps him at the top of the field. Plus his sense of humor is hilarious. This is a great overview and how to use specifics to bring better physicality to your BJJ
Awesome
This is a FANTASTIC video resource. You wouldn't think that in such a short course that so much useful information would be packed in it. But Mike Israetel found a way, and I have already gone back to specific parts of the video several times. This is a fantastic guide to help you understand and then design your own workout template. I've lifted for several years now, but he really cleared up a few questions that I've had specifically where lifting for BJJ is concerned. I hope he does another, but goes deep into several areas. I would definitely purchase it.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Best for those interested in writing their own strength plan.
I really enjoyed this video as its contents have been an interest of mine for around 20 years. Dr Mike helps to put one on the right track for strength training as a supplement to BJJ training, and dispells myths associated with strength training and BJJ. While very well presented, it might be drier than some viewers would like, but you can’t please everybody. There isn’t any quick fix for gaining strength, only hard work.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Weights for bjj
Great instruction from an expert. All theory here so dont expect to see practical instruction. Dr. Mike explains how to set up a weight program to help you in bjj without going into an overtrained state. I have been using this program for a month now and I feel better overall and stronger. I have lifted before but wasn't being disciplined to maintain a proper program. Injury prevention is also huge, I am 45, training bjj for 9 yrs and need everything that will assist me in protecting my joints and spine. Dr. Mike is a no bs kinda guy who says it like it is, entertaining to listen to....as this is all theory you can listen to this while driving to work, ect
Response from BJJ FanaticsNice! Keep it up :clap:Good tutorial for injury prevention

Gains
I have been lifting weights on my life and I always get very philosophical about certain exercises for jujitsu that you have to do with weight training to improve your game this is a great video Michael has good knowledge.! I am a strength and conditioning coach of personal trainer and a physical therapist and I approve this message :muscle:
intro to weight lifting
Interesting introduction lecture to weight lifting properly, including the rationale behind particular lifting programs for bjj.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Beast Mode!
Great video outlining the important aspects of strength and conditioning for BJJ. Which is also the most neglected part of most of our games. Being stronger and fit instantly makes your Jiujitsu better.
Buy Any Info from Dr. Mike. That's an order!
Dr. Mike Israetel is one of the premier sources in regards to the science behind hypertrophy and developing strength. He is very well researched and lays out the fundamentals of strength and muscle building in a clear, concise manner.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Excellent
This really helped me balance my volume and recovery between my grappling and weight training.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Awesome and Informative, only 1 issue
I love the insight and for the price it cant be beat I would love to see what a 3 day template lookis like however, since its alluded to constantly. You get a 2 and a 4 but not a 3?
Makes lifting along BJJ much clearer
Really clear guidance, makes sure your lifting is supporting BJJ training and not detracting from it
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great stuff
Very insightful and great information on how to combine weight lifting and grappling for great performance on the mat.
Good vid but wish there
Good vid but wish there was more program options and longer breakdowns.
Good stuff
Wanted to weight train but didn’t want it to affect my ability on the the mats and this helped.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great video
Thanks for the great content, the people want an injury prevention video and kettlebellsc video
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great content, highly applicable.
Deep dive into how to most effectively and efficiently weight train for BJJ. Would highly recommend. I am a PT and still learned a lot from this course.
Perfect
Just what I needed to round out my BJJ training. Everything you need to increase strength for the mat!
Simple, concise, and informative
This is a topic on which there is a lot of information but actually finding something that strips away a lot of nonsense and bs and gives you a clear guide of what to do, when to do it, and how often to do it is less common. And that is exactly what this guide does along with giving the reasons and science behind the suggested approach. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is training modalities for different outcomes than improved strength as this is solely what this guide deals with. Some advice for training for improved muscular endurance, stamina and conditioning would have been good but if you want to get stronger (and who doesn't) and understanding how to fit weight training in around your time on the mats this is ideal.
Knows What He's Doing
Mike is one of the few in the industry that actually knows what is important to focus on and what it takes to get real progress
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great video
Easy way to approach weight lifting and bjj.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Good
Good insights from a lifter who actually rolls. Interesting and not “more of the same” stuff you can find around. Happy with the purchase.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:As entertaining as educational
Great instructional. So many important details for weight training. And what is also phenomenal is that Dr. Mike is as entertaining as Joe Rogan. It helped to get all instructional consumed with extreme engagement and focus. That is quite rare with many BJJ videos putting you to sleep if you try to watch them at once.
