Excellent
Danaher is the best coach in the game when it comes to breaking down technique and concepts of position, by watching and then practising the techniques outlined in his videos has improved my game massively.
Fantastic set. Danaher offers up a Ph.D level course on his closed guard game. He picked the highest percentage moves he saw working in competition and developed all the little details to make them work even better. Like all Danaher material, he covers principles more than techniques. He does show you techniques using his principles, but the focus is definitely on utilizing those principles. It’s easy to apply those principles quickly. Highly recommend it.
Yet another fantastic title from Danaher, what makes these videos special is that Danaher doesn't just show you the move; he breaks it down, he explains the theory and goes onto troubleshoot, he arms you with not only the what, but the why and the where.
So much detail for a super tight closed guard game. You can probably watch it 100 times and still miss things.
I was hesitant to invest in one of John’s DVDs, but I’m glad I did. John introduces a few key principles and reinforces these concepts throughout each volume. The elbow across the centerline is worth its weight in gold.
Now I know my Closed Guard way better than before (and yes, before that video I knew Youtube...). Now I know why so many people and even world class BJJ-practitioners mention to study John Danahers instruction videos. Now I know that it probably won‘t be my last...
Great details, great teaching style!
JD is the best BJJ teacher.
My game is changing for the better because of this. Greatstuff
Danaher's understanding of mechanics are probably the best in the world, and more importantly his explanations are easy to understand and implement immediately into your game. 5/5
John Danahar hands down is one of the Best Jiu-Jitsu Coaches Ever. This series breaks down the closed guard like no other without missing a step. Definitely worth having and after this first purchase from the Danahar series I can't wait to get the rest of the Go Faster Further Series.
Danaher is the GOAT
Fundamentals receive this name for a good reason. And this is Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals at it’s best! Very useful, indeed.
Worth every penny really awesome :ok_hand: his whole system is amazing, well formulated very organized content , very satisfied with my purchase thanks a million Sensei Danaher🙏
I have purchased a few videos in the past from other instructors but this has been the best purchase I have made. I will tell you without any hesitation that this is well worth the money. I really can't believe the depth and detail of the instruction. I was expecting the typical YouTube type video and was apprehensive about spending the money but I was wrong. The quality of this video far surpassed my expectations and I will buy more from John in the future! Truly fantastic!
Excellent technique.
Excellent overview of closed guard with some exceptional details.
What I learned from watching JUST the first module has helped me increase my number of attacks significantly! Honestly, my closed guard attacks ****. And breaking posture has always been a real pain in the butt. True story: I watched the lesson on the 6 vulnerabilities and then went for a roll...I focused on using 2 of the vulnerabilities and during training and I found myself catching a couple of submissions, but what I liked most was that I made a quick and significant improvement in getting myself into position for more opportunities to finish. Since, my guard play has been nothing to write home about, I've always been content to work my way into side control ( my strength) even if that meant wasting a bunch of energy on escaping the bottom of side control after my guard was passed. So BONUS: I didn't feel tired because I was able to do a much better job of controlling the position and keeping the pressure on them. Anyway, if you struggle with wondering "what do I do from here?," or you're frustrated because your closed guard attacks only work on white belts who've just wandered onto the mat after their introduction class, then you need to buy this course. Personally, I've been in a state of raw joy since purchasing Closed Guard.
The first two hours was kind of a let down and was super repetitive, the last 15min summed it all up. It was my first Danaher purchase and I wasn't sure if it was worth saving up for. These videos are an investment. The next volumes were so packed with info and organized! Definitely worth the investment for anyone new to the game. It's the cost of a months worth of mat time for a lifetime of foundation.
This stuff is amazing! Detailed clear effective breakdown of techniques. Highly recommend this!
This instructional provides great details and better understanding of how and why the moves work.
Coach Danaher does an amazing job of explaining all the aspects of close guard so that you can understand it inside and out. He goes into so much detail, I'm going through the videos a second time and taking notes so that I don't miss anything. The video really helps clarify things.
Great!
Danaher shows the essentials that you must have in a guard game. He goes beyond technique and discuss what you need to be able to do, so your techniques work. A great help for any practitioner.
