• Simple, Concise, Effective

  I was very fortunate that my coach (Coach Jun, SBG, who is also starring in the video as uke) taught us this very very early on and so I have been using Henry's style of pressure passing for the duration of my BJJ journey. This instructional is a collection of Henry's live seminars on the topic and so there is some repetition and its perfect for picking up added nuances when it comes time to review. As usual Henry's uses a very simple concept and enables you to find solutions for an array of problems when guard passing. It's all I've been using for the past 2 years when I guard pass. Combine this with Henry's Soul Stealer instructional and you will enjoy collapsing ribcages and sternums of your partners and they groan in agony during your rolls!

  Never a miss with Henry Akins. Akins is extremely good at the fundamentals. There are a ton of little details here that everyone misses, which will totally transform your understanding of what guard passing fundamentally is. It's just weight distribution and angles. Akins demonstrates these simple high-level concepts beautifully. The best thing about Akins' instructionals is that since they tackle the "why", you can apply these concepts to other areas of your game too. Akins is one of the all-time great BJJ teachers, up there with John Danaher.

  I've seen and learned a ton from various instructionals but Henry takes it to another level with small details and a foundational ideas/principles of guard passing. Best passing instructional from a high level I've ever seen.
