Danaher always brings so much info to his instructional and the quality of his coaching is world class
Great stuff
Within the first hour I had discovered things I had been doing wrong for years. Well worth it.
John Danaher walks you through everything there is to know about guard retention. He explains all the different concepts but also shows the specific retention movements against all the common passes you might encounter. This has helped my game tremendously, 10/10 recommended!
I love how John goes into so much detail. This helps my understanding so much. He is an amazing instructor and I love all of his instructionals.
Excellent product as always
Definitely filled a hole in my game
helped build a strong foundation/guard to work off.
Brilliantly put together video, teaching all the fundamentals of guard retention, worth its weight in gold for anyone starting their bjj journey
This is more than a 5 stars video. JD explains everything you have to know if you want to keep your guards. This is a must have.
John Danaher is amazing.
Should be mandatory study for anyone doing bjj!
It’s John Danaher do you expect something less than 5 stars.
Not an easy ropy to teach and understand. Maybe it’s just me but his precision in language and methodical way resonates with me
I liked it. Great stuff for lower belts. Not as useful for higher belts though, which is fine. Guess by some point of bjj journey you would have figured out most of the concepts or learnt them from someone. But invaluable for lower belts to really accelerate the learning process.
Another masterclass from John Danaher. Study this material and find success; or don't and keep getting your guard passed.
Before watching this instruction, I was a just ***** doll laying down on the floor waiting for my partner to practice his pass movement. I still remember my third BJJ Professor telling me, that I have to play guard but not Top. Btw, I am from Kodokan Judo -not from Kousen Judo-, therefore to have my back on the floor was not my garden. So when my Prof. said to me that I have to play guard, I always struggled because no matter how many I try to play guard- Near distance guard, Open guard- I end up being passed. My Journey to becoming a good guard player in BJJ started in this way, but Unfortunately, I didn't understand how to work as a guard player until I encounter this instruction. I don't remember on what occasion Prof. John mentioned why his students are confident to attempt offense because they know that they can get back to a safe zone whenever they are in danger to be passed and subbed. I had not had know how to guard rather knowing mere the name of the guard. It is still the first part of my journey. Thanks to this instruction finally I can clearly see how I build a technique on in terms of progress and walking forward to be better.
Best technique instructional. Great technique and the context is beyond easy to follow.
Well put together and explained. Can’t go wrong with Lord Danaher
Not the easiest to drill solo, but great info and details
By far the best instructional I have purchased. I love playing guard and this has helped me greatly.
Offense is based on good defense. This will speed up your guard retention and will give the confidence to attack and be more agressive.
I used to get tired of trying to learn on the mat without direction or very little. When you go to a school they drill moves and your learn but don't get the concepts of retention. I didn't want to wait till 4 stripes to get good I want to become a legend. So this course helped me notice when to accept and move the next step ahead. I even learned how to darce people while giving in to the break of my guard.
This content made my life much easier at the gym and jiujitsu much more enjoyable and sustainable for me
However, is a little bit repetitive
