I got this because the cross kimora is one of my best moves and I wanted to tap into the potential of kimoras. There are tons of other kimoras and applications I didn’t know about and have really opened things up now that I know how to actually do the move. Really learned the ins and outs of the kimora lock and glad I picked it up.
The Kimura is the most overpowered and under utilized submission in Jiujitsu. No one better to learn it from than right here.
Everything M. Danaher does is methodical, well thought out. Systematically dismantling techniques so that if you study enough and apply all the details you are set!
I had never appreciated the Kimura as much as I should have. This changed that completely and it's now one of my go to control positions. I also thought the T kimura looked impractical at first. How wrong I was, so useful and simple to start using.
Lots of new details
Before watching this I never got Kimuras. I bought this because of a good sale, not because of any real interest in the material. The entire first DVD is devoted just to one move: the side Kimura, which you probably already know. Danaher is very long winded, but he really goes into the details. Suddenly I started getting the side Kimura to work. Then I started getting Kimura's from positions I never got them before because I understood the mechanics. Now I get a Kimura a few times a night. Much of the material I still do not use, but much of what is presented here is foundational to what I now do. This was completely unexpected and has not happened with all of Danaher's DVDs, but this one really changed my game.
This instructional singlehandedly changed my game shortly after I got my blue belt. The kimura went from something I barely understood from closed guard to something I will use to transition to several positions and finish in several ways. Totally blew open my knowledge of the capabilities of the kimura.
Always thought the kimura was a strong man move, therefore frowned upon due to the strength and crank that comes with it. After watching this, I learned how to use kimura as a method of control, and key details to finishing without using strength. Excellent instructional! Will revisit soon.
Everything you always wanted to know about Kimura
This kimura singlehandedly changed my game entirely. I never understood the kimura effectively but after diving into this DVD I started finding myself locking up the kimura grip and seeing where it took me. I have much better luck finishing kimuras and I often find myself sweeping my opponent or taking their back and finishing in the rear triangle position if I do not finish the kimura. Excellent in depth instruction that Danaher is known for.
An outstanding instructional! Danaher goes over so many significant details (that you would not have thought of) which make a tremendous difference for applying and outcome of the kimura! Well done video! This is something that I will be watching again and again.
Everything Danaher puts out is amazing.
Again, Danaher has surpassed himself. Excellent video for that can lock the position down but can't finish the sub. The details in this video will incarcerate your opponent, making it much easier for you to finish him/her. Great video!
Excellent content - well worth the cost
After drilling a few of the Kimura variations, I started getting really positive feedback from black belts at my academy after sparring.
Concise and easy to implement techniques and principles.
This instructional changed my view of the Kimura from a big guy move into it being one of my highest percentage attacks from nearly any position. Highly recommended
We are very lucky to be living in the same era as John Danaher. Truly the GOAT
We are very lucky to be living in the same era as JD. Exceptional instructional.
Great content, Danaher is masterful at breaking down concepts and explaining the how and why it works in a clear and concise manner without skimping on any details.
Danaher is the best english speaking coach I’ve come across by far. You cannot go wrong by investing in his instructionals. 100% recommend.
Bought this when it came out and now going over it again and seeing it in a whole new light, every time I see new parts and understand it a little better
Excellent instructional on one of the most famous techniques there is by one of the most technical instructors ever. The system in which John has developed is easy to understand and follow to break down different variations and paths towards finishing the fight. An excellent selection for your library.
This is an excellent video series on the kimura. As always customer service from bjj fanatics is top notch. I will definitely be bying from them again.
I've heard about the great detail of Danaher and he did not disappoint. Great for beginners to advanced.
