Nice instructional from Tom here. Great principles and very clever techniques for middle age fighter who looks to still compete against young men
As an newly crowned old guy (I'm 40), I approve of this video. Definitely focused on old guys and not just general technique. Tom Deblass presents it well. I love deep half guard so I like seeing that in the video.
Great techniques for not just older folks, but slower and less athletic in general.
This made me a fan of DeBlass. He's got personality to go with his knowledge. He strikes a balance between being thorough and succinct. I found a lot of new nuggets in this that I honestly believe upped my game in less than a week.
I like Tom Deblass videos, he’s straight forward and I he keeps it simple. I see a lot of ego in other professors and he offers a unique perspective. I’m 45 so I love This video and specifically it shows how to slow down and put yourself in beneficial positions for people who have there body’s best interest in mind.
I watched the video from beginning to end and then went back and outlined the principles of each technique in my notebook. I am now going back through and drilling one technique a week until I feel comfortable doing it repetitively with watching the video for instruction. I’m finding that is helping me understand the techniques better and these techniques WORK. I’m older than most of the people in my gym by 15 - 20 years. I’m slow and not as strong as I used to be. These techniques allow me to continue to roll effectively and efficiently.
Needed to keep up with the young fellas
I love Tom's attitude
Great video!!
Great video
Slowing down a bit. Was useful.
Even better than the first one, effective and adaptable
I absolutely love this video. I have watched this one and others of Tom’s videos several times.
It's not easy to deal with young explosive guys in training but this definitely helps. Really appreciate the guys in the video showing it
Tom Deblass explain no things so simply and straight forward it’s easy to remember the principles he’s trying to convey with his instructions As a grappler and teacher he’s the total package
Wrestled since I was 6, was a professional fighter for 14 years, at 52 years old I've put enormous wear and tear on my body. Went back to rolling after 5 and a 1/2 years of doing none. Even though I'm older than Tom I still learned some great lessons lessons rolling from middle age.
I got this because at 49 I just can’t keep up with younger, faster fighters. I was able to take these techniques and start applying them the very next class with great success.
Great video awesome instructions
Being middle aged and starting bjj can be daunting but it can also be incredibly rewarding when you have people like Tom Deblass guiding you through it. My advice is find your people to train with, you know who they are and then get this dvd and watch your fame improve instantly. Mine did and thanks to Tom, the guys also in it, bjj fanatics and my training partners for making me a better person both on and off the mat 🙌
Good basic principles and tips that ensure you can slow down younger, faster and sometimes stronger opponents. These basics will help you with "why things happen, how to prevent some things and how to recover."
