Danaher's knowledge really shines through in this series as the absolute bare bones fundamentals. He opening acknowledges that some of these techniques won't work with higher belts but he argues that these are fundamental moves that help with lower belts and with understanding how to even move to set yourself up for the more advanced moves. Some audience might find his explanations tedious and repetitive. And I will admit that it is not always the most exciting material. But the explanations are in-depth and insightful. I have already implemented some of his techniques into my training and have found them helpful. Definitely a game-changer for me.
Amazing video
Professor X gives all the details on escapes, top notch.
As a novice white belt this is an excellent explanation of not only what to do but why you need to do it
Great content on escapes, even for beginners
This has helped my game immensely. I feel much safer in bad spots and it has improved my overall game tremendously. Highly recommend.
Great fundamental course that I need to play over and over to digest
Goes into an incredible amount of details with all of his techniques
Can’t get enough of John worth the money
Perfect for building an effective and complete escape system
A lot of small detail that was really helpful
It’s really hard to deny how great this course is for a beginner. Been in too many BJJ schools where they don’t teach this methodology and have you hip escaping up and down the mats for 10 mins. Would highly recommend.
Although long explanations and theory can be boring for some people, i really like the depth of Danaher`s videos. Defenitely suggested for beginners (white or blute belts), or maybe even higher belts who have a difficult time escaping from pins in general. It is likely that not all techniques will suit you, but you should defenitely practice all of them a bit and then pick maybe 2 for each pin.
This opens your brain to the game of bjj. This is essential.
This instructional helped me with several escapes I was struggling with
Clear and concise
As a white belt just getting started I found this instructional to be a great entry point. It's a good overview of defensive concepts as well as how to escape the most common pins. Very practical for anyone first starting and often finding themselves stuck in a pin without knowing how best to proceed.
John Danaher is one of the best instructors in Jiujitsu. Nobody goes into the detail that he does. This is a must have video for aspiring bjj fantatics.
I’ve been struggling in bottom side control and this series really helped
good vids
It’s the best explanation for white belts
Very helpful, a lot of good details.
Bom demais
Jon Danaher’s course is exceptionally well-structured and easy to follow. He breaks down complex techniques into clear, logical steps that make sense for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The attention to detail, emphasis on fundamentals, and focus on why techniques work not just how set this course apart. If you want a deep understanding that actually improves your performance, this course is absolutely worth it. There’s a reason he’s the best !
