A Champion's Butterfly Guard
One of the greatest to ever compete, his butterfly and X guards remain unmatched in the 77 and 82kg classes. Marcelo provides excellent, clear instruction and showcases flawless technique. My butterfly guard has already improved thanks to watching this.

I like the technical instruction but what I like most is how MG teaches technique in the context of a match, addressing realistically the energy and movement a resisting opponent will give you. He doesn't just walk through the technique step by step but dynamically demonstrates the technique with movement and resistance. Subtitles were very helpful as well. My sweeps have improved 50% in just a few months because of the mindset and strategic details.

In this video Marcelo gives you a vast number of options for sweeps and some attacks from Butterfly Guard. Since he explains in detail why certain setups happen and how to take advantage of them or provoke them, I found the video great to gradually improve my own technique little by little, trying bits and pieces one after the other training session.
Top-notch
Everything Marcelo brings out is pure gold. I recommend using his book about the x guard (including the butterfly guard) parallel.
