I've seen a lot of videos here at BJJFanatics and this one might be one of my favorites. Very useful and can be used in self-defense or in the dojo. Great Job!
Very informative. Very useful if you like to break balance and clinch in the closed guard.
Cool stuff to try
Shows how to utilize old school guard
great closed guard dvd
I was first introduced to it by Steve Maxwell who picked it up from Joel and like Joel said it makes all the classic sweeps way more effective!
Still learning and working perhaps the best named guard yet!
I enjoyed this instuctional. Joel is a great instructor and the techniques he is showing is easy to follow. Going to be trying the falcon guard next time in training.
amazing
another good option to make your closed guard more effective again
A short bu very cool tutorial. One weapon more in your arsenal.
J. B. provided a great instructional of executing basic techniques and bump them up by increasing the efficency by utilizing the falcon grip. Depending on your opponent`s reaction you will be able to sweep and/or submit highly effective. The Falcon Grip can also be used from butterfly or halfguard as well as to take an opponent down or pull him into a sweep from standing. Different angles and quick and exact explanations are bumping this up! Highly recommend!
This video is on the falcon guard and what you can do with it. This is a good reference for anyone who wants to speed up their guard game and get more comfortable with holding positions that they can then transition into a sweep, arm bar, choke, etc... Joel's style is very pragmatic, you feel as if you're there with him training without your gi. I pull out the video frequently and 2x the speed and drill & pause the video so that I can practice the skills right along Joel as he presents the material. Great deal for the price.
I enjoy Joel’s instructionals — I’m not sure how frequently I’ll use the Falcon Guard, but I still enjoyed it.
solid instruction. simple to understand.
I just bought and watched it. I love it and will definitely add the Falcon Guard to my training Mike
simple yet very effective !
honestly loved the falcon guard and use it quite frequently. very clear and straight forward. i love all the options that there is for one simple area
Ive never heard of Joel Bouhey but this dvd has amazing concepts. My school is very big on fundamentals and you can tell that his lineage of instructor's are connected to Rickson and Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Great handful of techniques and was shown in a vey simple and easy to understand form. Joel did not give out "too much information" and everyone will be able to add these moves into their game very easily and quickly. This is a Steal when I picked it up on the daily deal! Cant wait to drill these concepts!
Pretty cool guard. Coundn´t test the technics because of corona... but can´t wait for it! Some new weapons in my arsenal. Nobody in my gym does the falcon guard. So it´s always fun to come up with something new...
Easy and great material.
I hit the butterfly sweep from Falcon Guard at least once or twice every time I roll now. I hit it more than any other sweep in my game. I’ve even hit it on guys I’ve never been able to sweep previously. I also think the Falcon guard is a good guard to slow down faster more athletic partners. Love it!
Good instructional. Camera angles could be better for some things and production values aren’t on the same level as others. However, the falcon guard is a very useful concept. Especially, for nogi.
Great content
