Very useful info and to the point!
Priits Defensive system is an amazing foundation for your game.
A must for anyone starting bjj
I'm getting old I have to open up my mind to this stuff, and I'm really enjoying it so far.
All his videos leveled up my turtle game! Well worth the purchase. If you play the turtle game or not, all his videos will help every aspect of your game.
I love how Priit teaches and explains his concepts, definitely worth getting if you want to improve your defence.
I like all of Priit’s videos. When all of them are combined, they give you an excellent defensive system. But I was hesitant to buy this video because the sitting panda seems like silly position. I now understand that most of Priit’s positions should be used in combination to transition from one to the next. Sure, you can hold one position and practice defending from it, but the sitting panda makes more sense when combined with the turtle and running man.
Interesting concepts. Makes you look at turtle position in a whole different light.
Priit always has Something to teach you that blows your mind!!!
In my academy I am know as the turtle guy I learn this style from telles and for two years I have been doing good. As time goes on there were alot of holes in my turtle game an alot of guys saw it an was able to catch me now that I for priit dvds alot of those holes are filled up. Everything you talked about in the sitting panda, hawking, and running man scenario would happen did happen to me I was lil doubtful at first not addressing the choke but grabbing the leg an hawking with my head down an my boxer shoulder it worked like a charm.lol The purple i was rolling with nearly lost his mind he couldn't rnc me or collar choke me trust me he tried like 10 times an nothing I was smiling in my head because of the share defeated look an frustration came over him. I am looking forward to buying all your work I love your style and yes I am the annoying guy in my gym my partners know they are in for a hand fighting cardio escape party with me.lol thank you priit your style turtle mixed with telles turtle made me a super turtle player.lol turtle guard for life.:call_me_hand:oss.
Priit's insights have changed my jiujitsu. I'm happily being described as "annoying" to roll with. Understanding Panda matters.
I found really interesting and useful the implementation of defensive wrestling concepts applied to bjj that Priit teaches in this dvd. I can´t wait to use this techniques in training
pritt has great knowledge of the defensive turtle game
I'm an older (59) practitioner, 3-stripe purple. I have really found the sitting turtle (Mihkelson's companion positions) to be a real game changer for me. Because most of my training partners are bigger, faster and younger than me, my strategy used to be to try to sweep, get on top, and then hold them there or look for a submission. But this took a lot of energy and once I was passed or swept myself, I had to use lots more energy to escape or simply survive. With these very counter-intuitive positions, however, I can really save a lot of energy, confuse my partners, tire them out, and then counter attack. Even with higher level training partners, the system works because they are not used to partners so willingly giving the back. And, because I have big hands, that old man strength, and am an experienced wrist-locker (Aikido practitioner), I can frustrate my partners and even submit them with surprise attacks. You definitely want to have all of the DVDs so that you have the complete system. s
This DVD is one of the hardest to implement concepts from Priit. I still struggle with it a bit, as it's completely the opposite what I was taught until I watched this DVD, but it's getting better and I'm developing skills that I wasn't aware about. I would recommend it for people that want to improve their turtle (having watched Turtle from Priit before) and for people that want to have better guard retention from butterfly guard. For me the game changing experience of this instructional is to finally be more comfortable with butterfly guard, as Panda is sort of dead butterfly guard. With that in place, you can play with people and seek for openings while they're confused, an invaluable experience :)
Really simple to implement in your game and very fun to start rolling with it or even just doing flow drills, but you can quickly see the power of it versus everyone. Thank you Priit for all the amazing content out there.
Nice instructional that fills a void.
Priit is a great instructor. I love the way he describes the "trenches" in Jiu Jitsu, like your stance in boxing. You have to go to your trenches to stay safe and then go from there. His Turtle, Grilled Chicken guard and Sitting Turtle have all the same concepts and are surprisingly easy to understand. He's right. You'll be called "annoying" and you'll love it.
This is an amazing video series. Easy to follow, great details and builds a whole new game to turtle.
Clearly explained, useful concepts.
