It a technical and efficient system. I use and it makes my opponents crying
Well organized and presented Techniques are appropriate for beginner and advanced BJJ practitioners.
I'm surprised I didn't discover this technique before. everyone should learn
New griping strategy Def surprised my training partners
I had never heard of the Z-Grip but now it's a big part of my guard game. This sneaky grip is a great way to lock down your opponents arm and take the back or go for submissions. I would highly recommend this for anyone that trains in the Gi.
Great gi grip no one will expect!
I've added the Z grip to my game it made a huge difference, you won't regret this one.
Great instructions and A amazing system Waldo has created.
Waldo Zapata devides this course into basiv concept, closed guard and half guard. It can stand for itself or being a great ad on to a more conventional closed and half guard game! Highly recommend it!
top notch
Innovative grip techniques for the gi. Nice selection of sweeps and submissions. Useful in the full and half guard. Waldo Zapata provides very clear explanations and I will be checking out his other instructionals as well
If you HS football lineman in the 80's this might seem familiar to you. A defensive lineman might have used it to shuck an offensive lineman, or if you held a lot (like I did) then you used it pass black when brining the pass rusher in close. I have used this without knowing, whether is was with a gi or a jacket. It is underutilized and it is effective. It's hard to break and it will be ignored by those unfamiliar with it (based on past experiences)
Not something I would build my game around but an interesting wrinkle. We have some really big guys in my gym, I am hoping this helps me have more control of them.
Great technique and interesting outlooks taught by Professor Waldo Zapata.
A very interesting way to control one side of the opponent’s body and find a lot of opportunities from there!
The Z-grip is a little-known option, which means it's underutilized in BJJ. I've already tried it and it gives you a lot of options when you set it properly. And, since it's not a well-known option, many people overlook the defence (at least the people I play with, obviously). So if you want to learn how to set it up properly (and what to do afterwards), go get this instructional!
Great instructional video!
Through a really clear and straight forward methodology, Waldo Zapata sheds light and knowledge on so many scenarios. A true tool for upping your game on all levels!

Waldo is one of the absolut best instructor and martial arts minds in the world! Waldo is extremely pedagogic and very fun to listen to, this is an absolut fantastic technique to add to your arsenal, I highly recommend it! It almost feels like cheating when sparring, due to the effectiveness and simple concept of the Z Grip, higher belts beware, or you will be forced tap very soon and often if you don't learn it...
