Great video, highly recommend to anyone that's less athletic and wants to learn how to dominate a more althletic and explosive opponent. These instructional have helped me immensely and aided me in winning tournaments.
Perfect for the old, slow, lazy and athletically compromised players like me from the GOAT of martial arts coaching. I know you are busy but please also consider doing do a "submission escapes for older or athletically compromised players" instructional. Thank you!
I'm clearly not a topfit athlete, my game clearly improved when I started to learn from this instructional. John Danaher system is amazing.

I'm 58 and have only recently started training, with less than a full year of classes. What I like is that this vedeo series starts with some basic insights - what we lose and what we gain as we age - and then develops a strategy around that. Most of my training is in tactics; moves that I can maybe execute and a few sequences chaining them together. This video series take a limited set of moves that require less flexibility than most other moves, and weaves a strategy based on that. At it's core is a belief that half guard is a good home base for older athletes. And the videos then explain how to get there from various positions and then what to do from there: How to survive and then get into half guard. How to go from half guard to attacking. The idea is to funnel everything into half guard where many of the disadvantages of being older are neutralized. It feels good to have a strategy. I'm still very much in the absorbing and learning, but I've been working on survival skils based on this video series and I'm beginning to see some results.

half gaurd
Easy to understand and apply
concise and clear instruction
John sounds like he is talking directly to me. I'm 70 and Younger guys run around me so my starts are bad.
👍
game changer. I'm beating people now who I've struggled with for years. all the defensive escapes he shows too are better than anything I've ever been taught.
Great, carefully selected, techniques for older players. Orbits around half-guard as a base position and covers sweeps, subs and escapes from there, as well as techniques to recover to half-guard. There are also some techniques from standing.
Danaher's section on dealing with how to pass the half guard knee shield alone is worth the price of admission.
