Well explained
Amazing content by Mr Akins. A couple of day one submissions all of us are learning from day one, namely the triangle and kimura from closed guard, have i never seen anyone do like mr akins show in this video. He is a Rickson Gracie black belt. I can tell y’all, from being a member on Ricksons own website as well as what anyone can see in the few Rickson Gracie sparring videos available on YouTube, Henry does the techniques just like Rickson does it. Truly a must have! For anyone looking to polish their basics.
Awesome!!!
I’m trying these regularly in sparring and finding great success.
Henry Akins' Inside the Closed Guard is a game-changer for anyone serious about understanding the fundamental mechanics of breaking posture, controlling space, and launching high-percentage attacks. Akins, a Rickson Gracie black belt, stays true to his lineage by focusing on invisible Jiu-Jitsu—subtle weight distribution, leverage, and effortless efficiency. Unlike many instructionals that emphasize grip fighting and athleticism, Akins distills the true purpose of the closed guard: disrupting balance, dictating movement, and capitalizing on structural weaknesses. His breakdown of posture control—especially his use of pull-push mechanics with the legs—immediately makes closed guard feel tighter and more oppressive. The details in his cross-collar choke and arm-wrap attacks demonstrate a refined simplicity that makes them difficult to defend, even at higher levels. This instructional is a must-have for those who want to stop relying on muscle and use precise biomechanical techniques. Whether you're a white belt struggling to control opponents or an advanced practitioner refining your closed guard system, Inside the Closed Guard will elevate your game.
like all of Akins's content, it's 10/10. need multiple watches to digest all the info and knowledge.
Great instructional loads of intricate detail and set ups very much worth the money :ok_hand:
