Great video, easy to follow and excited to implement
I was super excited to buy this, but then was disappointed due to it's length: an hour and a half. I was used to 9-hour Danaher instructionals, so I was worried only an hour and a half couldn't cover much; however, Pedro's teaching is concise and very effective. After just 30 minutes of video, I dramatically improved by gi gripping. I'm super satisfied with this!
This video not only explains the how but also the why of gripping theory and application. It also shows how to overcome problems you might face.
Great video, he goes through most common gripping sequences
This gripping system has massively improved my control of my opponents when doing stand-up in gi.
One of the best grip fighting concepts!
Great Material
Great stuff
An excellent Instructional on Grip Fighting, often overlooked IMHO.
An excellent Instructional on Griiping, very well laid out.
Incredible instructional, with a lot of techniques and concepts that I think are equally relevant to jiu jitsu. Obviously they're different sports and rule sets, but Jimmy's gripping system is based on winning the gripping battle so as to nullify otherwise potentially superior opponents' offense. In the context of jiu jitsu, I think this is especially useful for those who want to impose their will on the feet.
This instructional really laid out the foundation to effectively grip in Judo, which is the catalyst for all subsequent actions.
Overall, jimmy does a great job explaining key details about the goals of gripping.
Great details
There is a lot of great detales in this video that have helped me with my grip fighting for judo
Cool pitch. In my opinion, if you start wrestling in gi, this course is mandatory to study. Because the fight begins with the ability to take the grip correctly.
systematically simple
This course is the "PREMIER" example of excelient grapping for all levels. Unbelievable conent, easy to understand, outstanding detail. If you want to buy just one video this is the ONE that will definitely improve your judo skills.
Insightful tips, great details
Sensei Jimmy Pedro modified and upgraded a gripping system taught by his father. That means decades of dedication and knowledge created this manual about offensive gripping. It is about beeing rhe durst and staying ahead. He points out so well the formular if domination. Stance. Moving. Gripping. Moving. Throwing. He offers great techniques to get grips, to get rid if your opponent's grips or nullufy them and eventually execute the attack. Clear. Simple. Effective!
I am a judo guy who is cross training BJJ. This instructional is very easy to follow. The techniques can easily be integrated into drills for practice.
Gripping. Finally someone explaining a solid system to employ in my judo
Love this series
Great, foundational material for leveling up your judo game. Really helpful for building a strong understanding of positioning. You'll learn what an advantageous position is, and how to get yourself there -- systematically, across a variety of scenarios (RvR, RvL, from hajime, from a different grip, etc). My only criticism is I wish there were a little more about what to DO, once you've won the fight for position. How can we take advantage of our dominant grips? What's the smartest way to set up your big throws from there? Otherwise, excellent content, well-thought out, easy to digest and put into practice.
Lots of useful information that is good for all levels. It's an area that is normally not focused too heavily on in classes so this is valuable.
